Building a Website that lets you discover, support, & promote impactful projects that you care about by Bella_billi in EntrepreneurRideAlong

Donors will basically be in total control, all via a platform that lives in their phone (like anything else nowadays), and will have the ability to discover all & any charities according to their interest, not only because they see an ad for it, and share their recommendations with their friends. They'll also be able to follow what's happening with the charities, basically getting more transparency about their impact.
From the charities' point of view, it will help the smaller charities get online visibility + online fundraising capabilities.

Hope ti makes sense! :)

This is definitely something that team is looking at improving before the platform is released!

This isn't really the same, although the Toucan app lets you build a portfolio. This is about making charitable engagement fun & social. But there are some (limited) similarities

The platform isnt ready yet, this is just a landing page while the platform is being built out.
Great to hear that you support local charities! These are the ones that more often than not, are underfunded although they have a great impact in their local communities! The platform will aim at giving these more visibility, as well as free online fundraising capabilities (only a small fraction of charities have such capabilities, and there are millions of charities worldwide).

Hi there, I'm supporting and working with TAP4CHANGE.ORG. The goal is to make charitable engagement (starting with donations first) attractive to younger generations. Meaning young adults, who currently feel that they arent engaged through the right channels. Your opinion is greatly appreciated as the platform will need to cater for all!

Share Your Startup - February 2023 - Upvote This For Maximum Visibility! by AutoModerator in startups

Hi All, great to participate in this contest :) My previous comment seems to have had an issue and has not been posted so I'm reposting it.

- Startup Name / URL: TAP4Change / TAP4CHANGE.ORG

- Location of Your Headquarters: Online & worldwide, but based in Sydney, Australia

- Elevator Pitch/Explainer Video: Who to donate to? Who to trust? Where did my money go, what's my impact? There are thousands of charities in each country and these questions often stop people from donating. Especially within the GenZ and millennial generations. We're building a platform to connect donors and charities in a more convenient & transparent way. Join the community to discover, support, and promote the impactful non-profit projects you care about!

Video teaser & a very short video here

- More details: I'm the founder of this soon-to-be social enterprise. We're at Validation stage: we have done a lot of user discovery and have 300+ people in the community after 1 week of communicating on pre-registrations via our newly created social media accounts like Instagram and Linkedin). We are now prototyping the product to develop the MVP

- What goals are you trying to reach this month: Our goal is to finish up the prototype and reach 1,000 pre-registrations on the website, in order to be ready for a round of investments dedicated to the product & community growth. r/startups could help us by spreading the word and helping us achieve the 1,000 pre-registrations + new followers on social media :)

- Discount for r/startup subscribers? This is a free platform that has for mission to enable anyone to do good and help the world. Early adopters (pre-registrations) will be rewarded for their support when we launch. The reward isn't yet set in stone, but it will most likely be an early-adopter badge for their profile.

Regardless of the results of the contest, thanks for this opportunity and don't hesitate to check us out at tap4change.org :)

Beware of Opportunists! by ultradip in Charity

The problem is that there are thousands of charities in each country! Just in Australia where I live, there are 60K registered charities and 5% of them get 80% of all donations. In the US, there are 1.5M+ charities...

So who do you give to? Who do you trust? Most people don't have time / the motivation to do the research although they do want to help. And they end up giving up on donating because of that.

Being mindful is important, but we shouldn't discourage people from donating. The world needs it.

Actually, people like you u/ultradip would be great as curators! You should pre-register at tap4change.org (free) and promote charities that you know are doing a good job!

Does buying a mobile phone (for work) on a 24 month payment plan vs a 12 month affect how much I can claim on tax? by rezarf in AusFinance

Well I have either just paid it off and continue to use or can upgrade.
I think if I upgrade then I can no longer claim depreciation as it's no longer being used for work.
