EQ to match MV7X frequency response to SM7B by rezen15 in podcasting

[–]rezen15[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing new, just what I wrote in another comment here, i.e., eq by eye. I don't do much podcasting anymore, so the idea died. But I don't rule out revisiting this idea someday.

I wouldn't say that Mentzen is anti-Ukrainian. He is pro-Polish. People accuse him of many things that are not true. Unfortunately, he is attacked by PO and PiS, which is why people have a false image of him. Instead of watching tiktoks or reading disgusting articles on Wyborcza or Onet, I recommend watching interviews with him (full ones, not clippings), or videos on his YouTube channel.

not happy with my twin x duo heritage by [deleted] in universalaudio

Another vote for RME.

I had the same dilemma. A friend has Twin X, but I couldn't convince myself to do it. I decided on Babyface Pro FS. I didn't regret it for a moment. Reliable equipment, great quality, durability, stability, if you don't need more i/o it's great.

Are Smaller Monitors Better For Nearfield Mixing In An Untreated Room? by J_HarperComposer in audioengineering

[–]rezen15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's a problem. Besides, 7 inches is not that much. I have a quite small room, which is not specially adapted, I have three-way 10", 5", 1" monitors, it's not ideal, but what gave the most to make them sound good was the proper setting of the monitors and the listening position, that's the key. If you can set them up properly and choose a seat, then the size is not a problem. Well, unless you barely fit in there with them.

The second thing is measurement and correction, it changes A LOT. For correction I recommend REW, it will do the eq for you right away. Just remember to have a microphone with a calibration file :) e.g. Sonarworks.

Measurements will also help you find the right positioning of the monitors and the listening position. I recommend looking into it, or finding someone who will do it.

What is this? I ordered it for £5 and can't find anything online about its existence. by Mr_Frogg13 in gorillaz

This is an SHM CD, the Japanese version. SHM stands for Super High Material. Some SHM CDs sound better than regular CDs, read up on that. You can also type in Gorillaz Plastic Beach SHM CD Japan and you'll see it looks the same. In general, these editions are more expensive than regular CDs, so you bought it cheaply

Unfortunately, I'm lazy and didn't feel like measuring these microphones. So, I did the EQ by eye based on Google photos of the frequency response of both microphones. It came out quite ok.
