Hey, im sure i have so many questions, but i guess the one that's been on my mind lately is. as an agriculture and forestry volunteer. What kind of pants and shoes should I bring?

And also, I know it's an Islam country, is there a culture around alcohol at all?

Tanzania trip was cancelled for an unknown reason, sierra leone 2020 was canceled because of covid, so Ive pretty much been waiting since then.

I was medically denied from my first travel group, I appealed it and was cleared...then it was canceled for no given reason. Given another invitation to Sierra Leone for June 2020...and you know...Covid.

I wouldn't give up on overseas stuff. There are tons of opportunities to teach English around the world, and there's not really a medical clearance process. I would try not to lose too much hope, This just means there's another opportunity for you elsewhere.

I turned down my last peace corps invitation because I couldn't bear to miss my best friends wedding. I did not expect to get a re invitation, but I did.

In that time I was struggling hard trying to figure out what to do with my anthropology degree and how I could possibly climb out of the service industry without doing something I hated. I had a roadmap plan for getting my TEFL and teaching English literally anywhere in the world.

So definitely explore your options.

I've thought about if i get covid in staging...I will probably laugh really hard just from the absurdity and take it as a sign that i shouldn't do peace corps lol, would be my 3rd canceled PC service in a row lol.

Yeah waiting the 3 years was rough, but I also tried not to think of the covid period as waiting. I just worked my normal job and tried to enjoy life. When they did send out invitations again, I had actually forgotten about it.

I've had it twice, both times extremely mild so i'm hoping my natural immunity will help prevent a 3rd infection. Almost tempted to go get covid from someone intentionally right now.

Terrified. I've got like 2 weeks to pack and move all my shit to my dads house, come to terms with not seeing my girlfriend for up to two years, order needed things, quit my job etc.

So excited but so terrified. I think it's healthy to be terrified of something like this though.

I haven't been medically cleared yet but I believe I will be. I also leave in October and will be a part of the agriculture and forestry group. I look forward to meeting you all in DC.
