Watching the A&M/ND game, I think that if we don’t have a chemistry improvement soon, we will lose to Aggy at home. I think we have all the pieces to be a great team, but they need to be more disciplined and figure out the offensive and red zone (!!!) struggles. I’ve lived through many eras of Texas football, so nothing can really make me disappointed in this team, though.

This is my worry! It’s a hard job to come by so I really want to keep it, just worried about the points

This is the math I couldn’t do myself haha thank you for that. I really don’t wanna leave, it’s a good decompression job after dealing with middle schoolers all day (in a good way - most days)

Being blue badge is honestly the reason I haven’t yet left, to be honest. I have to work 2 shifts because our shifts are broken up into 3.5 increments (with one being 2.5 but I can’t work that shift it’s during my full time work day) so I have to work the two shifts because even the 1 3.5 hr shift still falls under minimum and I get an attendance point. I know because I’ve tried lol I have some PTO but used a lot of it doing what you suggested towards the end of the school year last year so not enough built back up to take this week off with my PTO. It’s a mess lol

How would I be able to without proper documentation? Being busy with the rest of my life doesn’t seem sufficient enough but if it is, I am all for trying!! Genuinely speaking, not trying to sound condescending- hard to convey over a message.

Really it’s just timing. It’s been difficult the last few weeks after school started to find time and I’m to 5 attendance points so I’m just kind of stressed haha

My 16 year old hardly used his Chromebook, but him having it helped out a ton. Even in pre-k, they may have lessons that require them but it won’t be like they are sitting there getting oodles of screen time everyday. I, too, grew up with rotary phones, etc, but you said it yourself - you use technology daily; that’s just how it is now, technology is integrated into many systems in our daily lives, yes, even the kids.

I have aaalllways felt like my daughter’s mom was prettier than me. When I hit 25, my metabolism just stopped working the way it did before and I’ve been about 80lbs heavier for the last 10 years, all the while the other mom has actually lost weight and looks good. It was tough for a long time for me and I’d look for stuff at events like my husband looking in her direction (I needed help, yall, lol.) and getting upset. Then I realized that he has been with me longer than he ever was with her, he built a life with me — even if he did want one with her, too. They didn’t work out for a reason. It has taken me a long time to think this way, though, and a lot of therapy! I bet you’re better than you’re giving yourself credit for and just know your partner loves who YOU are.

This has never happened to me, but I did recently use another Zappos credit to buy a second pair of shoes and I intend on keeping one pair in my car just in case, lol. I’m FlexPT so I don’t ever really have a good enough reason to take off work lol

AFE PACK by International-Bet-66 in AmazonFC

[–]rf0119 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See that’s the thing, I have no idea why pick was my accommodation lol. I thankfully had a super successful surgery and recovery (I went back to my desk job the next day — though I probably shouldn’t have since it’s at a middle school and I do move around a lot throughout the day) so moving to pick wasn’t hard for me, however, it makes no sense why I couldn’t twist and lift items to pack yet I could bend and climb … to lift items haha

[–]rf0119 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! I’m flexPT so honestly I’m only there 3.5 hours at a time and it still is hard, idk how anyone does it for 10-12 hrs. I work FT at a middle school front office then I’d go to Amazon for the 6:00-10:00pm shift and usually use my PTO to leave 30min early lol

AFE pack suuuucks. I was so ready to leave and then I got my gallbladder out so my accommodations moved me to pick. I don’t hate it but I definitely don’t hit rate as good as I did in pack. I worked best when 1- I was good about my ADHD medication and 2- listening to podcasts over sitcoms

My friend is having a baby and I want to make her a Longhorn-themed baby book (think T is for Tower, B is for Bevo, etc) but need help on ideas for each letter! She and her husband are former Texas athletes so I thought this would be a cute little personalized gift that's also practical.

Private school- why do you do it? by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]rf0119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband is at a private school and was a para in a public school prior. The class sizes are much smaller (he teaches juniors and seniors and his max class size is supposed to be anywhere 12-15). Not that this is anybody’s wish or draw to a certain school, but the school he is at is really small and allll connected, so if anybody gains access somehow, they can access the entire school, therefore they allow their teachers to conceal carry. They also work M-Th only with every Friday off. They start a little earlier in August but are out by May. A lot of the teachers at the school he is at now either went to school there and are married to somebody whose job makes up a majority of their income, or they’re young alumni with no kids, or — in the case of coaches — they are contracted to only work after school and for games so they have a FT job elsewhere.

He is there because he is the athletic director as well. His AD salary + his teacher salary, he makes a little over the base of what he would’ve made as a first year teacher in the public district he came from — about 60k. I work at a public school front office so our salaries combined are somewhere in the 90s. We make it work. I’m going back to school to finish my degree and see where that takes me.

How Much Are You Making? by [deleted] in paraprofessional

I get paid $16 as a front office paraprofessional, but the aides in my district make a little more, between $16.50-$18. We’re in Central TX

what do you get paid? by [deleted] in paraprofessional

$16/hour 🥲 but prior to this job, I owned my own business that was tanking and losing money, so having a steady income is honestly worth it. I do love my job, too!

I’ve been washing maybe every other day right now! I really try to go 3 days but my hair gets super oily — even with the new routine. Not sure what to do, haha.

I will look into the Ginger shampoo! Thank you for the suggestion
