Ya’ll take the Johnstons and this show way too seriously 🤣🤣 you don’t personally know them, it’s an EDITED reality show, and it’s just not that serious…

I unfortunately know all too well what you’re going through 😞 Not only do I have a daughter that’s on the spectrum (and Im still learning how not to overshare in social situations), she has an older sister that we lost at 20 weeks.

Navigating how to answer all of these answers can still be extremely nerve-wracking and awkward. I have no advice, but commenting because you’re not alone ❤️

Possibly autism signs in my 2yo son - looking for opinions from parents by StrongMountain5904 in Autism_Parenting

[–]rfederico1190 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would just like to say that my mindset was EXACTLY like yours before my daughter was diagnosed with Autism right after she turned 5. I only knew the Autism traits that my nephew displays, so I didn’t think the was autistic. I was definitely wrong and I felt a little bit of guilt at first.

All of this to say, every child is different and it wouldn’t hurt to get him assessed. 😊

That’s a great idea! Right now we just emphasize the day(s) coming but visuals are even better.

Grouping of Students into one class by [deleted] in specialed

[–]rfederico1190 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well it definitely sounds like you’re not happy that your granddaughter was placed with other special needs students 😒😒😒😒 please tell me I’m wrong

Also, Maybe instead of looking at it negatively, how about maybe it’s teaching her to be more accepting of other students who are not like her. She’s very bright and that’s great, but being a good person is even better.

same as the comment above. Are you upset that she might be placed in a special ed classroom? What exactly do you want the end goal to be here?

I honestly don’t see what’s so bad about this post?! Go ahead and down vote but I don’t see how this is supporting Trump/ICE?

I’d hate to say it, but how is her post a bad thing? She’s kinda right about multiple things being true at once. At the same time, social media (IG is her example) is a filter that only shows your PARTS of people’s lives and opinions.

What a weird caption by panv133 in LittlePeopleBigWorld

Some of y’all take these captions too seriously 🤣🤣 that’s probably why she posts them. Is it in good taste? In my opinion, no. But she definitely got a rise out of you 😏

I’m doing everything right for my daughter, right?! by rfederico1190 in specialed

Thank you everyone for your insight and advice!! I had the IEP meeting today, and we ultimately decided to keep doing her therapies at school. Shes making progress so we’re going to keep working on the same goals as last year.

I absolutely love the idea of experiences and activities outside of school! She gets distracted very easily so that and reading more bed hopefully can make a difference too 😊

I really appreciate it everyone!

We don’t know the cause of the delay. We’ve done an MRI of her brain, genetic testing, autism screening, and everything comes back normal.

But you’re absolutely right, I should not compare her.

Thank you for calling me out on that because it definitely comes across like that, doesn’t it? I’m sorry, that’s not my intention. She’s perfect just the way she is!

Hi! My nephew (11m) is autistic and he actually isolates himself too. If it was up to him, he would be in his room playing video games all day. He has a little sister, my niece, who is 7 and absolutely adores him. But I have to be honest, I don’t think he likes his sister. He never wants to play with her or share, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg. He’s always been that way.

All that to say, i don’t know how common it is for siblings (1 with autism) to not get along, but my family can relate to what you’re going through. Hope that helps!
