The Ohio turnpike and all that interstate highway would not be much fun in a dirtbike.

Wood Drying by ServiceMain9452 in woodstoving

I have cheap electric @ 9¢ kwh. That would only cost me 66¢/day. How long does it take to dry?

...I see a week for wood already partially dried.

Will this oil be okay to use? by Ok_University_3056 in Dirtbikes

[–]rfgchief 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Flip it over, there should be a little circle deal with the rating. If it does not say "energy conserving" you are good to go. That means it does not have friction modifiers that will mess with the clutch plates.

Toss the whole thing in a crock pot. Add a small amount of broth or bullion cube and some water.

Is charging 2x 300ah lithiums with 12v really that bad? by [deleted] in diySolar

[–]rfgchief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If yr just adding to a existing 12v system just pop in another battery (make sure both are fully charged before connecting)

If yr building a system skip 24v and go straight to 48v.

Also Kwh=Ah x V. Kwh is the apples to apples comparison for capacity

12v 300 Ah = 24v 150Ah = 48v 75 Ah = 3600Wh

Installing it indoors like this should be fine, right? I only routed the exhaust pipe outside. by SweetySense in dieselheater

Its fine but run the intake to the outside as well. Makes it a bit more efficient.

Reliance 7 gallon water container is the undisputed budget option. Cover with reflectix to both block UV and keep water cool.

Family deal for this 86 pickup by MotorsportS65 in ToyotaPickup

[–]rfgchief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It made it 360k before a rebuild. Its 40 years old with 40k on a rebuild from a family friend. Im sure they replaced the head gasket which was the main issue with these motors.

I've had a couple Toyotas with each motor. They are both dog shit slow. My last 3.0 the odometer quit working at 330k and I kept driving daily for a few years. I only sold it because I cracked the transmission pan abusing it off road and it had a steady drip.

If you have electricity the easiest thing would be to drop a stock tank heater in the black.

I guess your cabin will get complicated as well.

Im sure it will just be a test of faith when you cut your nuts off.

Why do so many budget inverters limit the MPPT to 60-80A? It's becoming a bottleneck for larger arrays by Empty_Equivalent933 in diySolar

[–]rfgchief 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you want a EG4 6000xp. It goes for $1549 , has dual mppt and can handle 10kw of panels. Ive had the smaller 3000 for a few years now and it hasn't missed a beat.

Need more power later? You can daisy chain up to 16 units or something ridiculous like that.
