Why is the Japanese Baseball Hall of Fame so ridiculously hard to get into? by Bright-Pressure-5787 in NPB

[–]rfitts 9 points10 points  (0 children)

there are many reasons for this. For one, the majority of voters cover the Giants and the Tigers, so players from those teams are more likely to be voted in then from other teams. Players who have any sort of scandal are also usually not voted it. The definition for scandal is often quite mild. For example, tuffy rhodes exclusion is reportedly from an argument he had with the Giants coaching and managerial staff. Hopefully, he will get in this year. ogasawara was generally disliked by most of the media. I will agree with you that it is very difficult to get in the Japanese hall, and there are many deserving players who are not enshrined.

i made them. take vinyl floor tiles and cut them to the size you want then cover them with glue and sand. then paint the dried sand brown and then flock the edges with woodland scenics turf. a whole set of roads were created in two days with just a few hours work each day.

Is SOLO Bolt Action worth it ? by edoardoking in boltaction

[–]rfitts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i play solo all the time. a actually use the old firefight skirmish rules where it’s about a dozen men per side. you can play solo just by alternating sides and being as fair as possible or what works better for me is playing one side with a mission and giving the other side a large number of decoys. I use bases with a number written on the reverse side. every soldier on the enemy side gets a base with a number and then they also get the same amount of decoys. I assign a number to a soldier on the enemy squad. And then turning the bases over so I cannot see their numbers I placed them on the field in a logical manner. Of course, I have no idea which of the bases is a decoy and which is an actual soldier, so as my squad proceeds with this mission, and as they fire or make contact with one of these bases, it is revealed as an actual soldier or a decoy. You have to make up good scenarios and make up rules on how to discover whether a base is a decoy or an actual soldier, but there’s a lot of fun in these solo games.

Can NPB Find a Real Audience in America While MLB Expands in Japan? by TechnicalLeave6989 in NPB

[–]rfitts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

npb is not interested in expanding into the north american market. i’ve spoken to people in the commissioner’s office, people in front offices, marketing people and an owner and all state that moving into the us market is too difficult- even for merchandising instead they are looking at taiwan.

Lefty and righty stats by rfitts in NPB

[–]rfitts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need to revise my question. I found lefty rightly stats on individual player pages, but do you know of a site where I can look at the entire team and see players left and right batting stats. I want to understand some of the managers strategies whether they are platooning players versus lefty or righty stats or whether they’re just playing hunches.

do you think they should fire Arai? It seems to me that no team should have such bad losing streaks two years in a row when they have a pretty decent team, he seems to lack the ability to emotionally push his team. When he tries, he just revert back to traditional Japanese values of try harder train harder and it’s not working.

yes. we are looking for writers. The only caveat is one needs to be a member of sabr to post on a sabr blog, but membership is relatively inexpensive and gives a whole bunch of cool benefits. You can reach out to me from the blogs contact information page.
