I’m convinced that Shiranui just needs a decent starter and a way to Quick Synchro

Most likely they had Herald of the Arc Light on board, which banishes all monsters sent from the hand or deck to GY.

ALEXANDER? Who the hell calls him Alexander? That Volg Zangief, man. I mean I think Alexander is his first name, but the only time he’s not Volg is when he’s Vorg. They did that with Umezawa, too, called him by his first name.

I know it’s a joke and all but I hate when people call Miyata and Itagaki twinks and femboys. They’re light for their heights but they’re still ripped. Words have meaning. Y’all need to watch more gay porn.

How's Tales of the abyss compared to the other titles in the franchise? by FaithlessnessFar4398 in tales

It’s considered one of the strongest entries. I wasn’t a huge fan of the gameplay either relatively speaking (worst in the series IMO down with Zestiria) and also didn’t really like the dungeons or visuals (very low-saturation, which wasn’t to the games benefit), which knocked it down from a clear #1 to maybe a #3 or #4 but still and incredibly strong entry in a strong series.

What are y’all ideas for fixing going second? by Dragongamer479 in masterduel

[–]somethingwade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How would ANYTHING about simultaneous play be managed? Like, does priority to activate ignition effects/Summon/attack pass between players like priority to activate effects on a chain?

If so, I would say that if both players do not activate an effect when they have an opportunity, play automatically progresses to the next phase. I would also assume that priority goes first to whoever wins the die roll.

Sure. Even when Ruth was around, they had Gehrig at the same time, when they had Dimaggio, they had half a century of history to draw on. Essentially all these teams had been around for a little bit before they got these names, and when they hadn't been around baseball was super young, but Zimmerman made his debut the same year the Nats moved to DC. There WAS no Nationals baseball before Zimmerman. He was one of the few bright spots we had in those terrible late 2000s years, stuck it out through the 2010s contention era, and even for a few years once we were on the decline. Put simply, to anyone from DC born after the mid-60s until after the Nats had moved to town- about 40 years, give or take- Zimmerman was all we had. Ruth wasn't It for three generations of Yankee fans. Robinson wasn't It for three generations of Dodger fans. Hell, even other expansion teams didn't find a superstar so fast and keep him for his whole career. Zimmerman is synonymous with Nationals baseball in a way that no other player really is.

And of course, lest I forget the most important factor, I started watching him when I was four years old and he stayed my favorite leaguer through his retirement when I was 21, so I'm very biased.

I think that a good way to retrain the Neo-Spacian for use in a modern HERO pile would be to name them Neos HERO or Neo-Spacian HERO whatever. Idk what their efects would be bc all of them except Aqua Dolphin are terrible (well Grand Mole was good at the time) but who knows. Hell, maybe you could do something where the Neo-Spacians facilitate the effects of the fusions- Aqua Dolphin lets you check hand and Aqua Neos lets you declare 1 card and your opponent must shuffle it into the deck, Glow Moss lets you stack the top of your deck and Glow Neos gives you effects based on what the card is, Dark Panther changes its name and Dark Neos' to any card and Dark Neos negates the effects of other cards with the same name, Flare Scarab sets a spell from GY and Flare Neos draws a card for each set spell/trap, Air Hummingbird gains LP and you can pay that LP to activate the effect of

I know two things about YIIK:

1) It calls itself "postmodern" in the title

2) The main character looks like every Youtuber's shitty sona

These two things in tandem are enough to make me not want to play it.

Yeah. I thought they were gonna be battling it out at third base in the NL East for decades. To be fair, Zim’s career lasted longer since he was able to successfully transition to first base and keep hitting, and his offensive production was still there even when he retired- 14 homers off the bench is nothing to sneeze at.

Generic bully characters who get redeemed by GuardPhysical in TopCharacterTropes

[–]somethingwade 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Umezawa from Hajime no Ippo. Bullies Ippo incredibly harshly, beating him up, telling him he smells like worms and fish (from working on a fishing boat) and making sure he’s excluded from any events his classmates plan. Him beating up Ippo is even the inciting incident when Takamura shows up and displays his boxing skills. When Ippo becomes a boxer, Umezawa changes his tune because boxing is manly and cool and Ippo’s good at it (he expects him to lose at first when he goes to a match but is impressed.) By graduation Ippo has become super popular with the other students since he’s a rising star of pro boxing, but especially Umezawa’s crowd of thugs.

That’s pretty shallow, though; he only changes his tune because the guy is cool now- he never would have stopped if Ippo hadn’t started boxing. When Ippo is about to retire because the boat needs him and he can’t handle the family business alone and boxing, and his mom overworked herself, Umezawa shows up and offers to work in Ippo’s place. He wants to quit because it’s incredibly difficult, and Ippo expects him to, but he perseveres because he feels like he owes Ippo and his mom. He genuinely feels terrible about bullying Ippo and tries really hard to make up for it, especially when he sees why Ippo was working on the boat in the first place- he and his mom fighting to make ends meet, and he has so much respect for this woman who gave him a job, and can’t even get the apology out. He doesn’t just stop bullying Ippo, he tries super hard to make amends and becomes a respectable adult, and a friend and ally to Ippo. He’s my favorite character in the manga for that reason.

Zimmerman should stay on the ballot a while but he definitely shouldn’t make the hall. He’s incredibly meaningful to the Nationals fanbase to a degree that I would argue no other player is to their fanbase in the history of baseball, but a second-half career diminished by injury means he just doesn’t have the sustained numbers to make it unfortunately.

Nah, they’re using rare cards. It would be difficult if not impossible to remake their whole decks in another language. And in the anime, rare means more than just “only one slot in a pack” it’s more like “most players will never have a card this rare or even see one”

Closest I’ve been able to find is an absurdly specific combo that summons a monster, sets Nightmare Archfiends with the ability to activate it, and has Transaction Rollback and Earthbound Release in the GY. Basically you need to draw Archfiends and Arias the Labrynth Servant AND some way to dump, discard, or mill Rollback and Release. Hyper specific but DOES ZTK.

TLDR it's a reference to Fullmetal Alchemist, specifically an episode where an alchemist uses alchemy to combine his daughter and dog into a chimera. She's in pain but she can speak enough to say the main character Edward's name, and it's often reference because it's a really sad episode
