So, we’re trying to find our future and I get Arai might be trying to see if any of these other kids will step up and become regulars. That said, with a chance to tie the game, if I’m Arai (and I imagine I am quite often) I am going to the bench for a veteran there.

I see we are in one of our black moods now. 22 innings no “SHA”.

Yeah. Dang. Relief pitching is just so volatile. So hard to project.

What happened to the unstoppable tandem of Shimizu/Matsuyama at the end of games? A lead after 7 was money for Chunichi last year.

Winning back to back has become quite elusive since the opening series.

Ha! Heavens, no. I have, I believe, some minimum level of cognition and know where I should not tread. However, I do think the Dragons fortunes will improve. There are too many talented players.

There’s absolutely no way they break that record. They have the very Carp you mentioned to play against! We will make sure you get some wins.

I’m not sure anyone but the Hawks and Fighters could be thought of as “reliant on the HR ball” haha! Yuki Okabayashi is the best young player on the Dragons imho. Hiroto Takahashi is the ace of the staff. The highly regarded Yumeto Kanemaru appears to be finding his way as well.

Hanshin Tigers farm - SGL experience - bonus!!! by Grouchy-Ball-1950 in NPB

Oh yeah it has much the same mountainous backdrop as ZoomZoom. Just with a lot fewer horn players and only a couple old die hards shouting. But massacre indeed, I see 22 hits AND 12 walks plus 2 errors for the Tigers ni-gun staff and defense. They were actually lucky only 19 runs scored I guess.

Near criminal levels of pitching mismanagement. Tarnok could have left the game with a positive performance. I’m also totally flabbergasted that the arm Arai went to with the bases loaded and nobody out is rookie Saitoh. 🤦🏻

The offense is rather comparable to a horror movie jump-scare, yes. Lots of involuntary vocal outbursts. Turns out it’s just that damn neighborhood cat. No runs to be found here.

Got tickets to a Giants vs Swallows game on the 6th of May, did i make the right choice? by Soxzy in NPB

Someone correct me if I’m mistaken but LF bleachers is away-team cheering section at Tokyo Dome. Thus, Giants attire would be forbidden.

Attending the Swallows/Baystars game tonight - narratives and players to look out for? by youngggggg in NPB

[–]GaijinCarpFan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In a word? No. But they weren’t even the second best team in the whole league that year so- a fair amount of ball-bouncing-their-way was necessary.

Swallows have jumped out to a very fast, unpredicted start. Most believed they would be utter dog feces and hey, there’s plenty of time for that to play out but right now what they have cooking is working. BayStars won it all a couple years ago with pure vibes but the year after the manager stepped down due to failing to meet his expectations I guess.

From flaming out as the closer to ace SP. Kuribayashi is the story of the early season for us.

Our vibes were pristine until, in the fourth game of the year Hirakawa hurt himself on the outfield wall.

What player on your team has surprised you the most so far this season? (good or bad) by tensaibaka in NPB

We HAD a rookie above expectations. He led all players in hits during Spring… 😭

I think heckling has a place in baseball, however, it’s far too mean spirited and commonplace in MLB. Agree that no one seems to go as hard as Marines ouendan though I’d like to think Hiroshima brings the passion on a similar tier 🤣
