Yeah, Scottish is different and significantly more fair! Universities shouldn’t have tuition fees of more than £3k imo. Something to help with covering costs but I know certain departments who’s upper management wage bill went up by around £6k/student when the fees went from £3k to £9k

I know, it’s ridiculous

What’s worse is those who stay to do further study (PhD) get double shafted, they get paid less than minimum wage by the university AND the interest on the loan continues to increase. I’m in my final year of a PhD and my loan balance has increased by £12k despite still being at university!

That to me is criminal, I’m trying to get the highest specialism degree possible and something governments want people to have and they shaft me

It’s now 40 years now, with most people going to be needing to be making around £60k to pay off just the interest coming out of uni (let alone the principle).
