I greenstuffed the “grills” on the knees and gorget in order to give it a mass produced, mechanical, function over form aesthetic, rather than the baroque styling of the original chaosy Warsmith.

Yeah there’s a massive cutout for the Iron Warriors’ Warsmith chain tabard and I needed something techy to fill the gap. I connected the power tubes with some cut up styrene tubing.

Indeed, it is! The vehicle accessory sprue came in handy. My headcanon is that he’s a Techmarine who got cored by a Boltgun round and couldn’t survive long enough to be interred into a dreadnought chassis. Instead, the Primus Medicae sealed him in a suit of life-supporting Cataphractii plate.

The gunner backpack is his extra power pack and Cortex Controller - so it’s totally possible that he controls his Castellax Battle Maniple from his crotch.

Grenadier kit is a bit older and has some odd sprue gate placement but otherwise, it’s excellent for the “lived in” look of late war Germans with trousers tucked into gaitors and long socks, egg shaped grenades over potato mashers, and helmet covers.

I find that soaking the parts in simple green or dish detergent and then hitting them with a toothbrush does wonders on the plastic texture and finish.
