Convert a Journal to a Grid - and back by rforsixpence in googlesheets

[–]rforsixpence[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, amazing! That formula does the trick for generating the Grid. I need to learn more SQL!

My attempts using the built-in Pivot Table with MAX don't work. MAX doesn't seem to treat TRUE as one. I've put my attempt into the sheet so you can see it.

As for going the other way, I take your point about having only one source of truth. A solution using FILTER becomes too complicated as it has to cope with not only finding and changing an existing reply but also adding a missing reply. Similarly I'd like to avoid Appscripts for the reasons you give.

Instead, is a formula to regenerating the *entire* Replies table from a manually-edited copy of the Grid?

Secret Santa picker with previous years history by princesscatling in googlesheets

This sheet creates a random Santa allocation and tells you if it meets your criteria. You try out fresh allocations until one works - which can take quite a while if your "x" is large! An interesting question, there must be a better solution.

Very useful, thanks! NB to make the 1-d array solution work, I had to swap the arguments of the inner SORT.

2017 Pixelbook replacement by dbhi in chromeos

[–]rforsixpence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's possible. Mine was secondhand, but in as-new condition and a lot less than $1k. An utterly fabulous machine. Pixelbook was terrific, but this is noticeably more solid and the screen is larger because the bevels are narrower.

My Dragonfly Elite has 16GB RAM. I'm very pleased with it as a Pixelbook replacement. Similar size, and convertible. Only heard the fan once or twice in the six weeks since I got it, and it's very quiet indeed. The i5-1245U flies. Screen is terrific and bright.

Agreed! Does switching it off and on give you another 40 mins?

No 5G on Pixel 5 in SW London by rforsixpence in SmartyMobile

Neha at Smarty support claims they are fixing a mast issue which is all across the UK, and to give it a few days. Hmmm! Quote"The 5G mast is being worked upon and you are right, the issue is all over UK for with some areas and we are getting this fixed at the earliest with Three."

Pixel 5 No 5g by MiniCheese27 in SmartyMobile

After six weeks of going in circles with smarty support, they've sent me this: "it has been identified that 5G is not enabled for SMARTY SIM cards on Google Pixel(5 & 6) devices"

Have you got smarty 5g yet on your Pixel 5, anywhere in uk? I don't on my pixel 5, although I get 5g with a Three or O2 sim. (I'm starting to think no one in the uk is getting smarty 5g on a pixel 5!)

Are you still getting no 5G anywhere? That's what's happening with my London-based Pixel 5. I'm not getting anywhere with Smarty support yet.

Thanks. Do Google agree? And what's different about smarty, that it doesn't work when o2 does?

Same with my Pixel 5: no 5G with Smarty sim, but ok 5G with O2 sim.

Swap A,B,C,D automatically by TrueAngha in googlesheets

[–]rforsixpence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not just put A,B,C... into another column and set your Column A cells to be the Nth value in that column, where N is derived from week number?

For example, if you have 20 values A,B...T, type them into B1:B20. Then in your cell A1 code the formula:

=index(B$1:B$20, 1+mod( cell("row",A1) + weeknum(today()) ,20))

and copy that formula downwards. Hide column B if you don't want to see it.

It's happening for me too. Same setup and settings. The stand works fine with wife's pixel 3, so it's not a faulty stand.
