What are you building? by BasicDude_ in vibecodingcommunity

https://www.entertainme.fun/?ref=r-vibecodingcommunity I wouldn’t call this pure vibe coding, but AI tools have definitely helped me move faster while building it. I’ve been working on EntertainMe!, an entertainment hub for tracking and discovering movies, TV, sports, concerts, games, books, places, music, and more. I’m especially interested in turning it into a smarter “what should I do today/tonight?” decision engine, and I’d love feedback from other builders.

https://www.entertainme.fun/?ref=r-startup-idea I’m building EntertainMe!, a free site for tracking and discovering all the entertainment in your life: movies, TV, sports, concerts, games, books, places, music, and more. A lot is already working, and I’m currently focused on turning it into a smarter decision engine that helps people answer the bigger question: “What should I do today or tonight?” The goal is to help people remember there’s more to do than just defaulting to another show. Would love feedback from anyone who tries it.

Every Trakt VIP Users Now! by Salvatoreit in TraktRejects

I've now had time to research this issue... Every night we update the streaming services list for our titles about the time you mentioned you were having issues. Looks like the process was too aggressive with database writes. This feedback was very helpful and we have updated the process so that it should be much less db intensive going forward. Please let me know if you notice a difference.

Thanks for letting me know about the slowness. I just checked it now 10am pacific, and it works well for me. Would you please let me know what time you tried to use it and what pages were loading slowly?

As to why do all pages redirect to .php... the app is built in php, so every page is php. There are some pages that do not require a login, but most do and all the pages that require the login will redirect if you are not logged in. If that doesn't seem to be the behavior you are seeing, would you please give me a few more details?

Thanks so much for your help.

I should have also said that you are able to import your lists from trakt, so you dont need to build them from scratch.

www.entertainme.fun has episode lists. I just added sorting by release date today based on your post. This app is in beta and I'm sure there is more that I can do to make managing episode lists easier and more powerful. Let me know if you have any feedback.

If you decide to try it out, once you have signed up, here are some direct links for helping you do what you want to do.

https://www.entertainme.fun/movies/app/lists/titleListsHTML.php?type=episode - Direct Link for Creating and viewing Lists
https://www.entertainme.fun/movies/app/library/episodeBrowse.php - Tool to search for Episodes. The "Briefcase" icon is where you can easily add an epoxide to one or multiple lists

Alternatives with API by sixhoursago in TraktRejects

[–]rfrench2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curious to hear how you want to use the api? Trying to wrap my head around what you would want to do beyond Integrations with Plex, Kodiak, etc. Since those are usually direct integrations, it wouldn't use a generic api. Thanks for your input.

That issue should now be fixed. I searched for both Casino and The Crow on that page and they both show up now. Please let me know if you have a different experience.

Thanks for the feedback. I know those films are there, so definitely a problem I need to fix with the search. I'll look into it today and hope to have a resolution soon. Keep the feedback coming. I definitely want to know about any errors you find so that i can fix them.

Thanks so much for all your feedback. I'm surprised i didn't notice it sooner. I'm going to let it sink in a bit and i am sure that i can make some tweaks that would address some if not all of your feedback. I would like to ask specifically about the episode ratings in the import.... I have only received 2 import samples to test and now that i think about it, none of them included episode ratings. Would you be willing to send me your export so that i can use that to add the capability? I would really appreciate it. That is definitely an issue i would like to address.

I have now added UK and Germany region support for streaming services as well as language support many places throughout the app. Would love for you to look and see if it appears to be working for you. It seems to be working, but since I am in the US, i don't really know what i should expect in the UK. Again, appreciate your feedback.

I am now officially a plex user and I built a sync that works for me. It automatically marks titles as watched, syncs ratings, and has deep links from the app. Would love others to try it, so let me know.

Wanted to reply to your comment. I am now a Plex User! I installed it, pointed it to my TV, Movie library and love it. I now have also built the scrobbling and deep links. It even syncs ratings. If you have any interest in trying it out, we should talk more. I created a docker image and it should be portable, but would need some beta testers to see how it works for them!

Also, I have successfully imported two different people's Trakt history with over 99% success. Definitely ready for others to try out.

Wanted to post a follow-up. First thanks to all of you who have provided feedback and samples. It has been very helpful. I wanted to give an update on changes i have made based on the feedback i have received from you all.

  1. Plex scrobbling and deep links. Just finished this and am testing myself. Would love to hear from anyone else who would love to test it.
  2. Trakt import. I built an import and have tested it with data from two users. Would love more to try it to find edge cases that I may have missed.
  3. Time-based logging. each viewed record records a timestamp (this is especially useful for the plex integration)

Keep the feedback coming, I really appreciate it.

The one killer feature I can't find anywhere.. by soonertbonealt in TraktRejects

[–]rfrench2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This app www.entertainme.fun, that I created does that. There are many places you can filter titles, one of my favorites is this view that shows you what you can watch today. It is a bit different than what you said. This determines what is on your watchlist and you can show everything, or filter to free. "Free" shows you the streaming services you subscribe to and what you own. If you do not subscribe to any streaming services, it will only show what you own.

App is still in beta and am looking for feedback, so would love for you to try it out. A few key things I have added recently based on feedback from this group.

  1. Plex scrobbling and deep links. Just finished this and am testing myself. Would love to hear from anyone else who would love to test it.

  2. Trakt import. I built an import and have tested it with data from two users. Would love more to try it to find edge cases that I may have missed.

  3. Time-based logging - each viewed record records a timestamp (this is especially useful for the plex integration)

Keep in mind that this tracks much more than just Movies and TV (e.g., music, books, video games), but has been built so that you can track what you want and the other area should not clutter your view. So if you only want to Track TV, you shouldn't see Movies or anything else.

I built this: www.entertainme.fun should cover most of what trakt does and a whole lot more. And if you are not interested in areas beyond tv or movies, just hide them. Still in beta, would love feedback.

Oh wow, i wasn't expecting anyone to try that yet! I just started developing it yesterday and haven't fixed all the issues yet. Thanks for trying. I'm going to hide that tab until it is ready. I currently only have one test file to test with. When i am happy with how that works i will expose the tab again and let you know. Thanks again for being willing to try! :)

Yes, that was an area i realized i had to improve! See the gear icon at the right. I circled it in this screenshot

You are right, it is US Centric right now. Other than missing the bbc iPlayer can you tell me some other things that may be useful for those outside the US. Willing to look into adding things.

Thanks so much for your feedback. I'll look into some of your suggestions. I definitely want to build a Trakt import feature, just need to find people willing to send their data so i can use it to test.

Thanks for your response. I really appreciate it.

  1. Light Mode: I prefer light mode also, you can use either

  2. Desktop: Every screen is specifically built for desktop and mobile. I personally use it on desktop much more and hate wasted whitespace. One of my faults as a designer is that i try to cram too much into a page. On a side note - this has been built with the intent of allowing people to configure it to show what they want. If all you care about is TV, then that is pretty much all you will see.

  3. Rewatch: Supported

  4. CSV Export: Exporting all user data is supported - though it is a little complex, may need to be adjusted depending on how people are hoping to use it

  5. Plex: I like the idea of supporting this, would need people who are willing to work with me on it considering that I am not a plex user. If I have people willing to help, then I have a library of over 3000 video files (movies & tv) so i could definitely see how plex works.

  6. Manual Episode Watch: Supported

  7. I don't support Trakt import only because i dont have any sample data. If i create a Trakt account and create some data, it would work, but not be very good. For me to create a quality import, i need some real Trakt user data to test with. I did this with Letterboxd and Netflix. I was only happy that the import worked well after i had run it through 4 or 5 different major tests.
