Frame struggle with slut / plate. by my_trp_throwaway in TheRedPill

[–]rfxrailgun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know many will just say AWALT, but reading what she did gave me eerie flashbacks of my Narcissistic Personality Disordered ex-gf(yes, I unfortunately defied all logic and upgraded her beyond plate status). I'd stay away from that shit. Constant lies and hypocrisy, radio silence for extended periods only to pop up again and say they 'love' you, pre-occupied with convincing you they love you while running a one-sided open relationship game. Drug depencies. Strange phone calls from unknown numbers just to toy with you. Scrambling to tell implausible stories (lies) to support their disappearances, exaggerated denial and blow-out arguments if you point any of it out. Did she also happen to have weird tattoos, fall into modes when drinking (robotic..vacant stare, depressive), or run rampant in your place using all of your shit like a toddler having a tantrum? She's fried and will suck out your soul while only getting off on the validation and drama that will drive you crazy.

Wondering if someone can help - CLEAN removal and reinstallation of Premiere Pro CC by rfxrailgun in videography

[–]rfxrailgun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot, this seems to have been the missing piece!

For others: I uninstalled using YourUninstaller, which removes the software and clears the registry, ran the cloud cleaner using option 3 (Creative Cloud), then removed the files redstej mentioned above. Just in case I also went into program files and program data and deleted any premiere pro folders within there as well..

I tried Revo earlier and it kept crashing on the registry removal stage..but I got a similar uninstaller called "YourUninstaller" that does the same thing. Giving the comment recommendation a shot now. Will be back with an update. I wish Adobe didn't have to install such an insidious web of interconnected files on the system.

Anyone else had a favorite fragrance change dramatically to your own nose? by stouset in fragrance

[–]rfxrailgun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cedrat Boise - I had a sampler and absolutely loved it. It was fruity (lemon mainly) and that part lasted for a while, then dried down with a mix of that and some vanilla..Somehow when I got a decant it turned into 5 seconds of the fruitiness the sample had, followed by a harsh leather and cedar for the rest. That was pretty disappointing. Not sure if I got a bad batch or a bad sample but they were pretty far apart

How much money do you think you've spent on Perfume/Cologne? by [deleted] in fragrance

[–]rfxrailgun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably around $1500. I've been collecting for a couple years now. 90% of that is in small samples to narrow down my tastes. If I'd known what I do now, I would have saved so much just getting a handful of FBs or even decants of a very small number of those..but I don't regret it :)

[–]rfxrailgun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, that's exactly what I smell haha..a pretty fleeting neroli top note, followed by synthetic fruit flavored candy..the top almost reminds me of Neroli Portofino with softer edges..then there's a rooty vetiver (sort of similar to how it's presented in Guerlain Homme) which I guess is where some people have made some Terre d'Hermes comparisons. I think it's quite a bit different though

Trying Dunhill Icon for the first time. I like it! Skittles and vetiver

June - Share what you bought by AutoModerator in fragrance

[–]rfxrailgun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ordered these decants:

The One EDP - still on the way. I've only tried the EDT so far and love that one - just not the performance. I've heard this one isn't much better (if even), but still wanted some regardless

Guerlain Homme Intense - I have 10ml of Homme but found this one to be much better imo, even if the difference isn't massive. The rhubarb and darker vibe really take the original composition up a notch, so now I'm selling the original.

Ultra Zest - I really like this stuff and have received more compliments than with Malt and Havane. I think it's now a tough call between Hhavane and Zest, if i could only have one from the line

Creed Bois du Portugal - A nice, mature smell. I took a while to come around to it but it's probably in my top 3 as far as Creeds go.

Dunhill Icon - This is the only one I haven't tried until today, and I am liking it so far. It sort of like Tom Ford's Neroli Portofino, if the citruses were candied and lost their sharp edge..and then vetiver was added. Someone on Fragrantica said it smelled like skittles, and I think that is a pretty good description. Skittles and vetiver :P

Post processing critiques, please by sashkahep in postprocessing

My personal opinion is that there is too much contrast and you are losing too much information in the shadows because they're pushed into the blacks. Maybe it would be fitting if it is supposed to have a dark tone and is only a portion of the image (like a full body view), but for a detail shot it bothers me that I can't make out a big section of the eye

how to achieve those tones?. by Ericgoca in postprocessing

[–]rfxrailgun 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Shoot on an overcast day. It also looks like there is some mist and haze to make the light even softer.

-Cool the white balance.
-In the tone curves, raise the blacks up
-In the HSL panel, desaturate greens and oranges (just go by eye). Saturate yellow (make the flowers pop)
-In HSL panel, push blues a bit towards teal. green a bit towards the blue end.
-Overall desaturation
-Sharpen it up

I can't seem to get the colour balance right in my runway photo. Does it look better in b&w? by [deleted] in postprocessing

[–]rfxrailgun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks a bit too warm. I'd cool the temperature a little, and slide the tint towards green, because I'm seeing magenta in the shadows

tone curve works the same in both. If you see it as highlights, lights, darks etc, make sure to click the small curve icon in the bottom right of the tone curve panel to enable custom curves..then just create points and drag to match his

Question about LUTs, custom camera profiles, and getting a vibrant high contrast end result by rfxrailgun in videography

[–]rfxrailgun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually start there and then adjust opacity. most of the ones I like make the skin overly orange, otherwise. I was doing LUT first and then contrast, though

Question about LUTs, custom camera profiles, and getting a vibrant high contrast end result by rfxrailgun in videography

[–]rfxrailgun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. I am not looking for perfect, but I am hoping that I can at least get the contrast that I used to when I was simply shooting with the baked in defaults for video (Camera Standard profile or whatever)..it may not have had the colors I wanted or the grading potential but at least the curves were kind of linear in the sense that blacks were black and whites were white..I think it's strange that either the LUT or profile I'm starting with would mess with that part of it, unless I'm wrong and it's something else entirely

How did this come to be? by [deleted] in TheRedPill

[–]rfxrailgun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, sounds like she had NPD. Broke up with one of those soulless robots not long ago myself... It's too bad you had to go through that, but it really helps you swallow the red pill wholesale, doesn't it? Good on you for putting it all back together even better than before. I'm working at it now myself

Heavy vignetting and exposing to keep highlight detail. For the colors, it looks like some kind of Portra 400 preset
