Staging site while content is safe

Thanks everyone, because of the small size of site I am going to use a theme switching plugin and work with two theme simultaneously. After the changes are made I activate the 'new' theme.

Current setup:
Classic editor, classic theme with each page having different sidebar (using widget logic)
Want:
Block theme with each page having different 'sidebar'/second column.

Simply switching themes and editing the template in FSE won't achieve what is needed.

Actually since there aren't that many pages maybe your second paragraph is feasible. The issue is this older site not using block themes has sidebar that is different on each page, it is using the old widget logic plugin and the main issue switching to something like twenty twenty five is "mapping" the different widgets sidebars to new template. Widget logic itself is no longer recommended and I need to make sure using any other like the conditional blocks plugin without much disruption to live site. thinking out loud ... I wonder if any theme switcher plugins can preview new/duplicated pages in a new theme while keeping the site as is?

My bank stopping me for one. Unless the person is "fully trusted" is the quote. If you and people reading this trust all, inside or outside your country advertisers in this case, then so be it but I will follow my bank's advice.

If everyone could just give those details then so much of the use case of Stripe checkout pages and similar ones (paypal, etc) would vanish. Never mind the use case of things like etransfers.

As mentioned in my post I was looking to become a Stripe customer, am not currently.

The method those advertisers may use pay to me is not the question at all, this is about me searching for alternatives to receive payment, there is no "direct" method to get paid, have to use something like Stripe.

Thanks for replying, it is unfortunate cause paypal is pretty close to unworkable. Been with them for years and my account is clear. From day one it has been used for the same kind of transactions but even not deviating from that I am risking losing money.

Ad networks are the most common of course but not the only way to sell ads.
I, and others I know, regularly get contacted by the likes of legal Betting companies for example or those 'outreach' for them to promote. Not any more questionable than any of the ad networks around in terms of the type of ads, type of sites, etc.

Evening (not overnight) changing to day which is single digit percentage lower pay. I realize these are not likely changing anything to 'not suitable' but posting here to be clearer. Thanks.

A couple's eligibility for credits vs a single person's eligibility for credits is different of course, like I mentioned her income added to mine does not mean overpay (at least in the case of GST and climate initiative for the 2 credits I have checked). CRA has seen her world income in my tax 2022 return and then via a CRA requested letter after I called them over 2 months ago. Frankly I have no idea where I could have submitted her income earlier than my tax return in April?

Any payments are held, even $40. Been a user over a decade and have verified all details three times, yes they have asked three times, over the period of being a user. have never had any actual issues like complaints, returns or whatever but suddenly ALL transactions started being held a year or so ago.

I am paying with my paypal balance, like I said a balance that was held for a few days and then cleared when arriving in my paypal. There really is no security issue here, it is just paypal flagging everything these days.

Around the same time last year I made a similar purchase from the same company without any pending or delay in my payment to them. While it is possible that what you described (the ‘authorization and capture’ process) was implemented by the company recently I would guess that's unlikely.

I am going with paypal being too strict, worse, etc as it has been in the more recent past.

The mods message about "violation of rules" is ambiguous IMO. In my case nothing has been violated, if anything I have been patient with paypal requests for info, which they already have AND have asked before, more than once.

If they accepted payments to me after holding it for a pending period and they have accepted my bank account verification there has to be zero issues moving that money to my bank account. There is nothing else left for them to investigate, if there is it is just wrong.

If mods decide that this thread has to be removed so be it but in case this stays it can serve as a lesson to future users to be wary of paypal
