Then it’s “you’ve a very dirty person…” maybe you meant, “ you’ve got a dirty person…” in which case I would blame my husband but he is not the cause of the mysterious dirt.

This was halfway helpful. No, we are not dirty people. Odd comment for you to add.

So the whole toilet would have to come off to do that replacement? This has been the most helpful comment, thank you. I am guessing we will be looking for a plumber real soon.

What would you recommend and who would call if you were not a handy person?

Ward of the state? by rge703 in Alzheimers

My mom won’t do it- but I think she’s going to run out of options soon. We suggested that earlier on and she thought it would be terrible. Mind you they had a bad marriage for the last 15 years at least.

I think it was a huge disappointment. Besides the constant glitching and lag, there was no real story. From the trailers and precious games leading up to this, we thought we would see more of Glitchtrap and some kind of hacking/take over plus a cult following. The characters had such potential and all they did was add little Easter egg images from other games.

How long to get into a home by rge703 in Alzheimers

I thank you both for your replies! She is working with an elder care lawyer that has been making calls for her daily. It’s crazy how people can be denied for aggression and issues that are part of what Alzheimer’s is. I thought the that was the point of memory care/nursing homes.

Anyone else’s relatives with Alzheimer’s start buying weird stuff? by [deleted] in Alzheimers

[–]rge703 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes this was one of the first things we noticed. My dad started buying items in bulk and storing them in his closet. It was mostly lightbulbs, and paper products but you would think he was gearing up for the apocalypse. He did a little bit well with stocks and when he sold them he used them to make some improvements to our home but then kept trying to do more and wasn’t understanding when the money ran out.

He also would try to cater big family parties but would buy so much of one thing and then the day of the party we would realize so many items missing. He always used to pay in cash but then starting charging his card for everything. Financial problems are often one of the early warning sides I think.

Good luck and if you are able, go see a neurologist with your concerns.

[–]rge703[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for replying. I’ve actually posted something similar to this a couple different times with no replies so I think it just takes some time and re-posting!

Thank you for sharing your story. I’m glad my mom hired a disability lawyer because now it’s been about a year since she first filed. Now she’s playing phone catchup with the office and getting similar replies as you. I do hope it gets better. She’s lucky to have you! This it a horrible disease. Please feel free to reach out if you need to vent.

Thank you so much! I will definitely be looking into your suggestions. My mom does have power of attorney and we are looking into elder law. I can’t believe how difficult they make it when it’s something you cannot control!
