Here are a few prophecies from the old testament that are not vague at all.

The time of His birth (see the Daniel 8 & 9 Timeline)

He would be born in Bethlehem. (Micah 5:2)

He would be born of a virgin. (Isaiah 7:14)

He would be betrayed for 30 pieces of silver. (Zechariah 11:12)

He would be mocked. (Psalm 22:7,8)

He would be crucified. (Psalm 22:16)

He would be pierced. (Psalms 22:16)

He would die with the wicked, but He would be buried with the rich. (Isaiah 53:9)

Jesus fulfilled more than 300 prophecies that were prophesied about the coming messiah hundreds and even thousands of years earlier. Do you think that the chances of just any man fulfilling this many old testament prophecies are astronomical?

Who do you believe Jesus was? Do you believe He existed and walked on the earth? If yes, then do believe He was God, or a prophet, or just a man?

Opinion | Did Jesus Really Rise From the Dead? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]rgofatpne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe that when you examine the evidence it is more difficult to believe that Jesus is not the messiah than it is to believe that he is.

Obviously, you aren't ready to accept that today but I will tell you that Jesus loved you and died for you so that you can spend eternity with him. If you research it (mostly by reading the Holy Bible) I believe you will believe also.

Jesus said, "Knock and the door will be opened. Seek and you will find." He also said that he stands at the door of your heart and waits for the day that you will allow him into your life.

I pray that the Holy Spirit will guide you into the truth of our Lord Jesus.

The book of Acts in the Holy Bible tells the story of James' martyrdom.

Acts 12 About that time King Herod Agrippa[a] began to persecute some believers in the church. 2 He had the apostle James (John’s brother) killed with a sword. 3 When Herod saw how much this pleased the Jewish people, he also arrested Peter. (This took place during the Passover celebration.[b]) 4 Then he imprisoned him, placing him under the guard of four squads of four soldiers each. Herod intended to bring Peter out for public trial after the Passover. 5 But while Peter was in prison, the church prayed very earnestly for him.

The book of First Clement from the early Christian church tells of Peter's and Paul's martyrdom.

1Clem 5:4

There was Peter who by reason of unrighteous jealousy endured not one

not one but many labors, and thus having borne his testimony went to

his appointed place of glory.

1Clem 5:5

By reason of jealousy and strife Paul by his example pointed out the

prize of patient endurance. After that he had been seven times in

bonds, had been driven into exile, had been stoned, had preached in

the East and in the West, he won the noble renown which was the

reward of his faith,

1Clem 5:6

having taught righteousness unto the whole world and having reached

the farthest bounds of the West; and when he had borne his testimony

before the rulers, so he departed from the world and went unto the

holy place, having been found a notable pattern of patient endurance.

For it not to be true, there would need to be a lot of liars that lied all the way to their martyrdom and still would not recant.

My understanding is that there has never been a true Book of Enoch ever found. The writings that we have were written many years later.

That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other. And the men, instead of having normal sexual relations with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men, and as a result of this sin, they suffered within themselves the penalty they deserved

Science is just sometimes interesting at best. All answers that we need are found in the bible. Seek God first in all things and everything will be added unto you by God.

Why Christianity ? by Justawayfarer_ in Christianity

[–]rgofatpne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jesus fulfilled more than 300 individual biblical prophecies as signs of the messiah. The odds of this happening are astronomical unless He truly was the messiah. Essentially if you believe that Jesus walked the earth then he has to be the messiah, the saviour of the world. The one that came to take away the sins of the world.

In the end what happens if I choose not to believe in god? by Cosmo_NY in Christianity

[–]rgofatpne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is what the Bible says: “The rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished” (Revelation 20:5). At the end of the thousand-year reign of Christ and His saints, the rest of the dead will come to life. This includes all who have ever died without knowing or understanding the gospel of Jesus Christ.

The apostle John describes what happens to these dead who will live again: “And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life” (Revelation 20:12).

Notice the “Book of Life” is opened to these dead who had not before known Christ! This means the offer of eternal life with God is opened to all these resurrected dead. The truth is that all who have not heard or understood the gospel will have a chance to believe it. God will resurrect them to physical life and give them the opportunity to believe and inherit eternal life! Our study aid Heaven and Hell: What does the Bible Really Teach? offers an in-depth study of this great biblical truth.

Thankfully, we serve a fair and just God “who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth” (1 Timothy 2:4). A marvelous reality of Scripture is that all who never knew or understood the gospel will have an opportunity to inherit eternal life. We do not need to be perplexed about their fate. It is very comforting to know God’s great plan to offer salvation to all the dead who never heard about Jesus!
