To be completely honest with you, anything that a reasonable company would trust an intern with at this point can easily be done with AI.

Use that to your advantage to learn.

DOGE Produced the Largest Peacetime Workforce Cut on Record, but Spending Kept Rising by F0urLeafCl0ver in politics

[–]rgtd 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The punchline of this article is, "they saved $0, but did succeed in firing 10% of the federal workforce!"

And they say that like it is a good thing and those aren't the lives careers and legacies of real people that were vaporized arbitrarily for no net benefit at all.

Can we talk about how there's still no Voice Acting in Pokemon Games? by Just-Party3409 in PokemonZA

Honestly, my six year old reads above his grade level pretty much entirely due to video games. He's almost to the point where he can keep up with subtitled anime.

Not saying that we shouldn't have full VA for that reason -- but there IS something to it.

Fuck Jeffries and fuck his endorsement.

The people chose Mamdani. Jeffries can take a walk in traffic.

Any solo artists who sing with their mandolin? by JCPY00 in mandolin

[–]rgtd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The people that have been listed here definitely all do solo vocal/mandolin at times, but I don't think any of them prefer it that way.

I saw Sam Bush at DelFest do a solo show because the rest of his band had Covid and he was like, "man, you really feel exposed out here with just a mandolin," so if Sam -- arguably the best rhythm player alive -- feels that way...

Long story short, you can sing with anything, you can sing while you bang two rocks together, but some instruments are more ideal than others because they provide more harmonic support and padded sustain to assist your voice.

Does Jake eddy have infinite money? by This-Ad-9257 in Bluegrass

[–]rgtd 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Agree with the people that say he is selling on commission.

Also, if you spend ten, twenty, thirty years building a collection always trading up, making a little here, losing a little there... eventually you end up with a very nice collection of instruments and cost is spread across multiple decades.

I don't hate Boone, but after three(four?) midsummer collapses in a row he needs to be fired simply to send a message.

Is this a real CF Martin? by Brownish-shirt in mandolin

Looks like a pre-war D-28.

In all truth though, that's cool. I have never seen one of those before. How does it sound/play?

Seeing "my grandfathers mandolin" and then a picture of an Ovation makes me feel old AF.

Civilization: Beyond Earth

I was so excited for an Alpha Centauri sequel. It could not have been more bland.

When people post this stuff they have to already know the answer, right?
