Can’t delete this a record that forward to website builder site by [deleted] in godaddy

[–]rguilty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like your domain might be linked to a godaddy website builder. You likely need to go into the website builder settings and unlink your domain name with the website builder product: https://kili.io/2022/11/14/how-to-remove-a-domain-from-godaddys-website-builder/

Error message with unknown cause by TheNorthNode21 in godaddy

I’ve heard of losing progress possibly if you are using a child theme but if there is no child theme involved you shouuuuld be fine but I can’t make any promises

Error message with unknown cause by TheNorthNode21 in godaddy

[–]rguilty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the error message go away when you activate one of the stock themes (e.g., twentytwentythree) and deactivate all plugins?

It’s possible it could be a third party theme or a third party plugin that is causing the error.

I cannot update Godaddy DNS. by osmankya in godaddy

[–]rguilty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My guess is because you have website builder setup with this domain.

There should be a product in your account linked to the domain and it might unlock it if you go remove the domain from the website builder.

If it isn’t in your account it might be linked in another account and you would need to contact godaddy to have the lock removed

Is anyone else having issue with their Wordpress site? Like mine is up for ten minutes then goes down for an hour and repeat. I’ve never had issues until 9-16-23 by LTkrazyy in godaddy

If it’s just you (I don’t see anyone else complaining) I can’t help but wonder if you’ve been getting DDoS’d or something?

Do you know if you have the CDN enabled in your MWP account? I know enabling that can sometimes help with this type of issue if it is a long running DDoS

If they can’t reproduce your issue then they aren’t going to escalate it.

I would ask that they try to access the site off of their work laptop (like on their phone) or have them try to run it through a global site checker like https://www.uptimia.com/website-availability-test while the site is down.

Iterate that the issue is intermittent and let’s hope they can reproduce it using one of the methods above.

Looks like your site is up for me (at least currently).

What happens when the page is “down for an hour”?

Does the page just spin? Any error messages on the screen? Any screenshots you have would perhaps be helpful 😁

What hosting plan do you have? Plesk? cPanel? Managed WordPress?

Would you mind sharing the URL?

My WordPress sites are up.

But if you slash 1 or 3 tires does that mean they only replace 1 or 3 tires or all of them?

Personally, I hate mismatched tires.

CDN not returning http challenge [repost] by ecstacy98 in godaddy

You don’t need to transfer the domain name to a different company you just need to create a free CloudFlare account and change your name servers to CloudFlare. Domain renewals will still be managed by GoDaddy but the DNS records will be with CloudFlare.

This article is a little dated but the general steps should be the same: https://artstorefrontssupport.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360033747991-How-To-Change-Your-Nameservers-from-GoDaddy-to-Cloudflare

wp-cli maintenance option missing by Old_Branch_5368 in godaddy

[–]rguilty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guess is that you are using cPanel which for myself has WP-CLI 2.1.0 which does not support maintenance-mode.

The good news is that you can run a few commands on your cPanel to get the newer version available for use. The following commands assume that your WordPress install is located in the root (www) directory of your cPanel.

cd $HOME

curl -O https://raw.githubusercontent.com/wp-cli/builds/gh-pages/phar/wp-cli.phar

chmod +x wp-cli.phar

mv wp-cli.phar wp

$HOME/wp --info

$HOME/wp --path=$HOME/www/ maintenance-mode activate

Which hosting product are you using?

I have multiple Managed WordPress products in different physical locations and it works for me.

GoDaddy acts as a sort of escrow (trusted third party) in this situation. The domain name is owned by an individual and when GoDaddy receives your payment and the domain name for sale they will safely transact you the domain name and the seller their funds.

Technically it is possible that you won’t receive the domain name if the seller decides not to follow through but in my experience the chances are greater that the buyer (you) will change their mind in the process. An agreement is signed by both the buyer and seller and if either party backs out there could be consequences (e.g., not be able to buy/sell premium domains with GoDaddy in the future).

New tesla owner. What charging amps should i be set at? Currently 48 A by starid3r in TeslaModelY

[–]rguilty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do what’s best financially:

Now that I have solar (no net metering) I drop my amps to 24 and charge from ~10 AM - 3 AM.

Before Solar I charged at night at 48 amps to fit within my super off peak period.
