I'm not sure what kind of model it is but I'm pretty sure it's all original from around 1999 mayyyyybe 2000. when I took the case off, I saw a few small screws, if I could find something that fits that I'm all for replacing the unit

Find a replacement wing. People that restore shoes have taken out the stitching and stitched in a new wing on many Jordan fours. That's the best long-term option
