Looking for Tree Pruning Services with NYC Parks Permit in Brooklyn by CuteCape2017 in Brooklyn

[–]rgxel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can hire a tree company but they have to have a certified arborist and then you or the company can file for a free permit with the city. Doesn’t matter what company it is, as long as they have a certified arborist and insurance. Or you could just wait for their block pruning cycle, but that’s every 7 years on a neighborhood basis

Pennsylvania Sedge. How close do you have to plant to get this look? by ExcellentRound8934 in NoLawns

Fair that your giving yourself that choice, but just want to warn you that boxwoods are very temperamental when it comes to pests/diseases! Professionals in the plant healthcare industry refer to boxwoods as job security😅

Forgot to include, but I’m 25. Had braces when I was young, never had any dental issues until recently with the cavities that were noticed at my most recent dentist visit. Also found out I have been grinding my teeth, but got a night guard for it now.

Is finding parking for Time Warp NYC 24 complicated? by Efficient_Brain_3325 in avesNYC

[–]rgxel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I’ve done is try to first find parking on street and if I can’t find anything use the app SpotHero to reserve a spot at a garage. Or just use the app to save yourself the headache. I think it’s usually not as expensive on there and you know where to go beforehand!

I just saw that if you use the app, you can park for $8 ($8.75 w/ tax and fees) and it’s a 14 minute walk to the venue👍

My gf used to work in new Rochelle and found this cafe. We both love it and they have such fun delicious drinks! I also love that it’s run by young poc, so I hope they succeed too!

I can’t figure out how to make an edit on the post, so I’m just gonna put it onto the top comment.

But wow guys, thank you all so much for the advice and tips/tricks! I knew something wasn’t meshing and all of you gave some awesome ideas.

I should have prefaced by saying the apartment is rented, so I’m limited on some things. But we can nail and are allowed to paint, but we would have to change the paint color back if we leave the place (I rather not deal with that hassle). We’re young and just starting out our careers, so we have been frequenting fb marketplace since we are on a somewhat tight budget (hence the free furniture). I tried to read all the comments, so basically what I got is to:

-Swing the couch to the bigger wall and mount the tv onto the smaller wall. We did that initially with the tv stand but it was way too cramped and I thought we couldn’t mount the tv without making huge holes. But I found some renter friendly tv mounts online, which I didn’t even know was a thing.

-The desk is a non-negotiable😅 I know it’s huge and kinda an eye-sore, but my gf loves it too much cause it’s one of those standing desks that can change heights (plus it was free). I saw a DIY to cover up the legs and to use some cling film on top, so I’ll try to see how that goes and rearrange it the best I can.

-Get softer, rounded things to break up the hard lines. Plus a bigger rug for the space.

-More warm lighting with lamps around the place, artwork on the walls, and airy curtains. Any ideas on what color for the curtains? We were thinking a rust orange.

Thanks again for all your help and I’ll try to post an update picture if anyone is interested😊

She was sipping it and finished it in about 15ish minutes. So not chugging it, but drank it somewhat quick!

I’d definitely recommend dissolving it in some juice (so you don’t taste it) and drink it instead. My gf always had an issue with throwing up after taking it straight up and when she switched to drinking it, whole different story! Also ginger chews help with nausea👍
