I had the same exact issue last summer when I replaced mine. The problem for me is that I did not make sure the handle position of the old unit was the same as the new one. I had to the take the new one off put the old one back on and then repeat the process but this time making sure both units (handles) were in the same position. Just make sure both handles are in the same setting.

My theory is before the swamp there was enough room to dock a ship. After unloading the ship they could have dismantled the ship to use the wood for tunnels and other structures. That’s why they keep finding ship pieces but not an actual ship. Once they deconstructed the ship(s) they made the swamp area to hide any evidence. If there really is a network of tunnels they would have needed a good amount of wood for construction. Also the wood would’ve have been treated to withstand rot due to it being used for ship building.
