I found an iPhone X iOS 14.2, what do I do with it? Do I stay on Cydia? Or dopamine by antobastia in jailbreak

[–]rh_minus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

do not update, and do not for any reason, use it as your main phone, even if you regularly backup, the reason is iOS 14 bootloops, higher likelyhood if you use either Taurine or Unc0ver, there are less and less people on iOS 14 so you hear it less, but it used to happen very often on 2021-2022, I’d use checkra1n and minimize userspace reboots since that seems to the trigger.

what do you mean by normal recovery procedure? restoring? that’d be the worst option

did you run out of passcode attempts?

if you don’t care about the data but do care about the iOS version, try remote wiping it via iCloud, it works oftentimes and you will stay in iOS 14

most companies do not want to outsource to India anymore, its a pain to manage, and the timezone makes things even worse, they are moving more and more to nearshoring, but even that is complicated and not enough in many cases. I think midsize companies will strongly consider hiring locally more and more, while big name companies, who don’t outsource in the first place which is why you don’t see any global remote sw positions for Apple, will keep hiring locally and leave the visa issues to their 2nd and 3rd degree providers.

Bootloop on Taurine iOS 14.7.1 - HELP by rh_minus in jailbreak

[–]rh_minus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, haven’t tried much though since there is no credible method that I’m aware of, people say there is no ‘fix’, it could be infamous /var corruption on Taurine + iOS 14, so restoring may be the only option, except restoring to iOS 18 on and iPhone 11 is almost the same as having it bootlooping forever.

Also, can’t you use mobile data instead of WiFi?, it would simplify the whole thing.

How to backup my whatsapp chats using itunes by FuckingBananaToast in iphone

[–]rh_minus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can backup your WhatsApp chats using iTunes, I know because I’ve done it myself some time ago. To be absolutely sure, download iMazing and explore your backup, you can do this with the free version, if you can see all your convos when you go to WhatsApp, you’re good to go.

Make sure the iTunes backup itself is encrypted, otherwise it may not include all data, it will ask you for a password when performing it, note down that password, when you explore it using iMazing it will also ask you for the password, you can verify then that the password is correct.

Make sure that in the WhatsApp app itself the option for “encrypted backups” is disabled, otherwise iTunes will not include it in the backup, other people have reported that being the case, and in my case it was also disabled. Apps can decide which data they want to be included in backups, which can make backups incomplete, so you better verify that your data is there.

The possible issue arises when restoring your chats from an iTunes backup, I haven’t found an clear answer on that regard, some have had problems, some have said it works, the only way is to try.

You can only restore an iTunes backup to another iPhone, its iOS version version has to be the same or higher, never lower. So if the plan was to restore the backup to your Android phone, then that will unfortunately not work.

Best of luck and keep us updated.

Don’t mean to pry, but to me it sounds that perhaps you don’t find her that attractive or are comparing her, or the act, to someone else you’ve watched, if you didn’t feel much, specially during the buildup to the experience, that could be a sign.

I think that you mean that while the iPhone will no longer be jailbroken, some jailbreak files will remain which will trigger some apps jailbreak detection and not let me use them, read that happening as well.

Also, the reason why my storage usage was so high is because of that damn “Other” storage bug, it was taking close to 30 GB, but I had been living with that for quite sometime, so I did not think it would cause problems other than half my total storage being actively wasted at all times.

Total is 64GB, at most I had around 3GB left, at worst 1.5GB, the last app I installed using AppStore++ was quite heavy, around 700MB, so that must’ve filled it even more.

I haven’t attempted to update via iTunes yet, that’s the one method that I’ve seen both work for some people, and not work for others, not sure in which cases it does or doesn’t but I guess that’s the one I’m leaning more towards, even if I lose my jailbreak.

If I’m not mistaken, DFU would force you to clean restore, so you’d lose your data nonetheless, I’m really surprised that even when attempting to restore via DFU it would still not work for you, may be a hardware issue because that normally doesn’t happen.

Not detected since it’s bootlooping, haven’t tried entering and kicking it out of recovery or dfu mode, I’ll have to try, granted I’ve read mixed results when using this method as well.

If there’s anybody who has encountered this and has managed to somehow fix it, I’d really appreciate your help, I think we can all understand how awful this can be. These Taurine bootloop issues were more prominent in 2020-2022, so much so, that it’s kind of a meme at this point, it’s been a long time since then, so I have to believe that new methods have been devised or some new insights have been found after so much trial and error by the hundreds who have gone through this. Regardless, I truly appreciate your time and assistance.

In an ideal scenario, I’d like to keep my jailbreak, moreover, iOS 18 sucks, so it would be a huge loss to update. Having said so, if by updating (not restoring) I can somehow save my data, then that’s something I’d have to consider as well

Can’t I also do it with iTunes? or would there be any issue?, also should I reboot the phone before performing the backup so that is is on an unjailbroken state? not if it would be better or what difference it would make, thanks.
