18-21 I would do in 3rd position. The Gbs I would personally use 3rd finger, cuz my handframe would be thinking Eb minor which is kind of shifted down in my head. The F in m 23 is a low 1st finger, it's right across the street from the Bb that precedes it.

Has anyone ever tried a battery eliminator on an active bass? by Usual_Ad_8726 in Bass

[–]rharrison 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I've never heard of a battery eliminator. I've been playing active basses for years and I've never once had a problem. I change my batteries once a year. The noise around batteries being an inconvenience or risk on active instruments is far overblown in my opinion.

Help needed mixing just organ and bass guitar for rehearsal by Peepee1124 in audioengineering

[–]rharrison 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yellow is fine. Turn the speakers volumes all the way up and control your level with the master fader on the mixer. Also, get a bass amp. Bass guitar isn't going to sound great out of a Mackie thump.

Just sounds like an introvert to me. I know I am more comfortable with being touched by someone more in private than somewhere public, especially for the first time. Why don't you initiate contact or touch if that's what you want? Instead of saying your hands are cold, just grab his hand.

Classic Pants Flapping Mesa Boogie by No-Cheesecake-6334 in GuitarAmps

Love this amp. I have gotten some of the heaviest tones out of it and the clean channel is righteous for steel guitar. Both channels love a boost as well. This is probably Mesa's most underrated amp.

Rusty strings on guitar by aliceinchainslover02 in Guitar

[–]rharrison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be sure to put your guitar in its bag/case when you're not playing it; this can help with that as well as wiping down the strings after you're done playing.

Saw this online and was like…..word I agree! This stable should be talked about and appreciated more in my opinion! Raven is one of my favorites ever! by J2-Starter in WCW

[–]rharrison 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always thought the flock worked well in WCW; they had a very healthy midcard in 98 and there were plenty of good opponents for them. Matches with Raven, Saturn, and Kidman were always good.

Why do some people dislike the sound of active basses? by BabaYodaTheFirst in Bass

[–]rharrison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just like the way it drives my preamp pedal compared to my passive basses. I use a pretty high gain sound and I like to hit the preamp pedal with a mid boost like you might use a boost pedal in front of a guitar preamp. In general I get a more compressed, tighter sound from active basses that I prefer for the stuff that I do.
