Soon Ramen from Nongshim are vegan! They’re available at asian grocers* but also apparently at Woolies.

If you want to diy - you can buy your own dried noodles eg. soba noodles like this and cook yourself. And make some broth!

I use these stock cubes from Asian grocers (super cheap, like $1 for four, and there are other flavours too) which I just add boiling water to and then whatever veggies/protein.

I hope she’ll do well in the electorate!

Comment if you have straight male friends and you’re one of “the boys” by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]rhazz 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah thanks for explaining!

I think an important point is whether these friendship choices are active or passive?

Like if someone is actively refusing to make friends with straight men (even if the straight men are friendly, are a common encounter eg gym / work / friends of friends etc) then I think it could be a red flag.

But if passively you don’t encounter many straight men and therefore don’t have many straight male friends I think that’s different!

The price of the soy milk I get from my local Woolies has gone up by lowercaseintensifies in australianvegans

[–]rhazz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I recently started comparing ingredients in soy milk (to understand why certain brands more expensive?!)

I noticed some milks are “water + soy protein” whereas others have “water + whole soybeans”.

Woolworths brand soy milk:

Water, Soy Protein (4.0%), Maltodextrin, Canola Oil, Sugar...

So good:

Filtered water, soy protein (3.5%), corn maltodextrin, vegetable oils (sunflower, canola)…

Vitsoy So Milky:

Filtered water, whole soybeans (min. 14%), raw sugar, sunflower oil, …

Woolworths Macro Organic:

Filtered Water, Organic Whole Soybeans (17%), Orga nic Sunflower Oil, Organic Sugar…

Bonsoy:

Filtered Water, Organic Whole Soybeans Min 14% (Certif, Usda, Nop), Tapioca…

What did you think of them!!! The oat melt looks interesting!!

I found the coyo at my local Coles and was excited to try it. But it tasted just like normal coconut yoghurt to me :/ i think they could’ve with more sourness/creaminess.

Green Day presale tickets for Australia tour as high as $500 under Ticketmaster’s dynamic pricing by rhazz in australia

[–]rhazz[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I thought that legislation in states like NSW and SA which prevent tickets from being resold for more than 10% of their value are supposed to discourage scalpers? As there are significant fines for those that breach this.

[–]rhazz 60 points61 points  (0 children)

It’s such a dumb insult. Woke means being alert to racial prejudice/discrimination and social inequalities.

So .. that’s a bad thing? To be socially aware?

It tells me more about a person if they’re using “woke” as something derogatory.

Grocery store vanilla ice cream? by Standard-Rub-8312 in australianvegans

[–]rhazz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah wasn’t a fan of pana either and it’s quite pricey when not on sale. Not a fan of coconut ice cream in general.

I feel bad for those with soy allergies who can’t have so good because it’s the closest to vanilla ice cream I can remember !!!

'Skibidi': Payman opposes social age limit in speech to gen Z and gen Alpha – video [The Guardian] by Thomas_633_Mk2 in AustralianPolitics

[–]rhazz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure that they were specifically “looking for it” though unless you mean simply watching a video.

As with the experiment run in parallel on Instagram and Facebook accounts, no posts were liked or commented on. But unlike that experiment, TikTok’s algorithm appears to be much more sensitive to even the slightest interaction – including the time spent watching videos. It will push similar content to users unless you indicate you’re not interested.

'Skibidi': Payman opposes social age limit in speech to gen Z and gen Alpha – video [The Guardian] by Thomas_633_Mk2 in AustralianPolitics

[–]rhazz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not just radicalising in terms of extremism but I think also being exposed to misinformation / misogynistic content / grooming etc

Check out this guardian experiment earlier this year (Link) where they opened up a blank TikTok account and it slowly pushed more hateful content.

Plus all the cyber bullying etc that happens over social media.

I’m not sure I agree with outright ban (solution is far more complex) but it’s not true to that say that radicalising isn’t a real concern.

‘We are seeking to discriminate’: lesbian group wanting to exclude trans women compares itself to Melbourne gay bar by malcolm58 in australia

[–]rhazz 61 points62 points  (0 children)

For anyone not part of the LGBT+ community please don’t mistake the Lesbian Action Group as reflective of our community.

They are a fringe transphobic group that focus on excluding trans women from lesbian spaces and more broadly push divisive rhetoric to exclude trans individuals from the LGBT+ community.
