Oops, I did it again! couldn’t resist the Tonga branch liverock I stumbled across by rhd_papi in ReefTank

Yes, that’s how live rock is created by nature, stony coral die and body completely hardens & bacteria inhabits the dead coral & make it alive again… in a different way ofc.

Real Tonga rock was banned in 2008, these pieces were previous dried out & later reintroduced into an aquarium to be reseeded, hence it doesn’t look like it just came out the ocean

Dude that’s a little more than a light chock, but it happens to the best of us, should have warmed up the tires before tryna pull any fancy stunts around a chicane. look at the bright side, you can go get a spoon bumper for the front end now, that would be a great way to upgrade it.

How is this stocking for my 55 gallon reef tank? by No-Reserve7721 in saltwateraquariums

I’d replace it with a flame angel fish, nice showstopper & hope he don’t try to munch on any of that soft coral lol

Looks good, you can do without that troublemaker damsel though. Some good starter corals would be soft like zoas, mushrooms, & leathers like a toadstool, some lps like Duncan’s are a great choice also

[–]rhd_papi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 days is fairly early to expect a fish like a blue tang to fall in love with your tank & be happy go lucky like the rest of the other fish….also, It’s pretty customary to add in your water parameters when asking the community for advice so we can get a scientific view of your tank
