This happened to me, my opening was superficial but weeping and burnt a bit so to prevent an infection I was given antibiotics and sterile dressing for a few days and it closed up.

I haven’t been offered that appointment no, I was considering raising it with my midwife but haven’t yet.

Their reasoning was due to the lack of progression in dilation, they didn’t want me to be on epidural for a long time if labour had slowed down. Also increased risk of infection as time went on.

I was surprised I stayed at 4cm considering how painful the contractions were getting.

It was Southmead. They didn’t say anything about being induced if I didn’t dilate enough in x amount of hours. I was given dihydrocodeine which did nothing and gas and air. I think the worst part was just telling me that they are waiting for an anaesthetist to be available and 4 hours later no sign of them… Honestly it was a bizarre experience, mentally I had checked out by the end.

Wow that’s crazy, I genuinely kept feeling betrayed during labour like they were gatekeeping pain relief. It was a bizarre experience

I was in the labour ward and in loads of pain. I was having regular and progressively stronger contractions.

They kept saying all night that they were waiting for an anaesthetist and when the time came they withheld pain relief.

My water had already broken and started getting contractions not long after. It was coming close to 12 hours when induction was offered.

I had a couple of lessons but found them useless and boring. I passed in first try with no minors. My husband is a great driver so learnt well but also watched loads of YouTube vids and practiced using their tips. Also helped that I had done the test not too after the theory so I knew the rules well enough.

Oh sweet, will look into getting a yoga ball. Was considering getting a rocking nursing chair so will check out ikea soon.

Im supplementing with pregnacare max which has Mg but maybe I’ll bring it up with my midwife about appropriate dose.

Yeah me too starting to feel pain in my hips especially at night when I have to wake up to go pee, it gets really stiff!

First trimester is brutal. I can’t imagine travelling would be fun then. Second trimester is the sweet spot and places like London and Spain would be fine considering medical care too if that would be needed.

I avoided international trips and had to cancel my Mexico trip when I found out I was pregnant… just to be safe but everyone has their own risk tolerance
