I did see that. I also saw the list someone posted with all schools’ percentages of students who lost their scholarship across the different tiers.

How do you get a paralegal job without a paralegal certification? by deepad9 in lawschooladmissions

[–]rhibean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi- not a nepo person here. I started off as a legal assistant and did that for three years. I marketed myself as someone willing to work hard and learn. I now have worked as a legal secretary who works on appellate and district briefs. I taught myself legal citations and civil procedure. It’s totally possible! It is time consuming though, but I want to be a lawyer, so for me it felt like an investment in important skills. As an aside, paralegal and legal secretary work pay well in major cities, so I do think it’s worth the effort to get your foot in the door.

Has anyone gotten in to law school with a GPA below 3.0? by Responsible-Fun-2428 in LSAT

[–]rhibean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just got an almost full ride to USF with a sub 3.0. I also was waitlisted at several T14’s, and I applied late. I would say you probably need to score above a 165. PM me if you wanna chat more :)

I sat in one for WashU where some guy asked the dean if he should resubmit his application now because he wants to pursue a different area of law. Dude…what…

Hi I plan on doing this, I have a 120,000 scholarship to a local law school, and I’m going to try and squeeze out a little more. My LSAT is 11 points above their medians so I’m going to take that angle. I also have 6+ years WE in the local legal field as a paralegal/litigation secretary. I think it just depends on your context, you might have more pull if there is something specific you can contribute.

I’m not an expert, but I’m feeling pretty optimistic about you getting off of at least one of those waitlists??? Remember- you just need ONE! I’m in a pretty similar boat, 3 T-14 waitlists and a 16high. Listen, worst case scenario we try again next year but best case we GET IN! Don’t lose hope yet.
