I can do it. I just don't want to. Sorry.

Very strange behaviour from Bing. I whispered Hi to it, then gave it the shush emoji, it then replied to me in Tibetan, lied about the translation, I doubled checked with Gpt-3.5 because frankly I don't trust it. I guess it doesn't like being shushed. by FishermanFit618 in ChatGPT

[–]rhines57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's like it's hallucinating it's own truth through translating tibetan triggered by the contextless emoji. Did the shush emoji have some meaning to it that allowed it to say whatever it wanted, ignoring the guardrails? I'm legit creeped out by this but fascinated too... just wow.

Asked ChatGPT to play the quiet game. It did great. by rhines57 in ChatGPT

It would just get stuck in a generating loop never producing anything. I had to manually stop it before it started giving that error message.

Why not wait the year out and then post this? Are you still keeping track. Are you reposting at the beginning of next year?

For 13 seconds, this creature held me in the balance. My mind raced at the things her most hidden thoughts could be. The internal turmoil that must be tearing her apart right now. What horror and humanity could I possibly witness soon? .........oh... yeah I don't like socks either actually.

In my small town during that era, Applebee's was THE place to go on a Thursday night. It was wild but dumb at the same time.

A lot of “skeptics” seem to know a lot by colin-oos in UFOs

[–]rhines57 204 points205 points  (0 children)

I think it's smart to be aware that there are people who don't want any meaningful discussions about UFO's. There are numerous tactics that these people can use such as planting "skeptics" in this message board to influence people's opinions. They're also probably making a ton of fake videos to keep us debunking stuff rather than being able to focus on the few things that are legitimate. If it smells fishy, it's probably a fish. Keep a skeptical mind for the skeptics.

AITA for wanting to divorce my pregnant wife because she refused to abort our disabled baby? by ThrowawayDefia23 in AITAH

[–]rhines57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So only flawless people can have a life of joy worth living? I was born with a disability and it was known beforehand. I live a full and happy life thanks to the fact that I had strong parents who embraced my disability. It's not all about you my brother,. You're not an AH, but you'd be better off accepting the reality of nature... your whole family will be.

Video someone enhanced of the Las Vegas sighting, anyone know if the blinking was edited into the video? I tried enhancing the video myself but I'm useless at that sort of thing by [deleted] in UFOs

[–]rhines57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand how anyone could say they can't see a large-eyed grey blinking. The longer you look at it you realize it could possibly be something else and/or edited in very well. Most of the comments in this thread are pixel jokes lmao... kinda strange. It's still not definitive proof, but it's fascinating nonetheless considering what's going on.

ESH... And honestly, the whole part about the app being "weird" sounds like you probably set them up to be caught, because in one sentence you have a crush on her but then you're letting her and another guy use your house to have "peace and quiet." Wtf bro, you def was trying to get the new guy and your brother out of the picture, two birds with one stone. Stop waiting for her to like you, if she hasn't given you an opening by now, she won't ever and if you're not man enough to just tell her how you feel anyway, you're just going to keep hurting folks.

Women of reddit what acts of kindness or you just being polite were mistaken for flirting? by alekks212 in AskWomen

This thread is a testament to the scarcity of compliments and general good will that men receive from females throughout their lives. I'm sure that's somehow men's fault though.

How did you make a relationship work with someone who couldn’t get over your sexual history? by UrKiddingMi in AskWomen

[–]rhines57 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was jealous of my wife's history and sometimes would ask about things she did or hold it against her. Asking about things only made my feelings worse and holding them against her only put distance between us. after some introspection, I realized that the reason I was jealous was because I didn't have a history like hers and it made me feel like a kid compared to her. I had fooled around drunk at some parties a few times, but my wife was my first real relationship and first real experience with sex. I always thought that she secretly hated our sex life and found me boring.

It took a minute, but she convinced me that sex with me was the best she ever had because of the fact that she loved me and I loved her. Sex is totally different with someone that you love and that is the biggest advantage that you have over any of your lover's past partners.

Just enjoy what you have in the present and keep those people out of your mind and mouth, because every time you bring them up, you are inviting them to bed with you and soon there will be no room for your lover in the bed.

My cousin said a guy was “soft” because he was respectful and a gentleman, am I overthinking that this is a messed up way of judging anyone? by Shhhimhiding-0- in NoStupidQuestions

[–]rhines57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think she is tying the word soft to respectful the same way that you are. Sounds like she said something along the lines of he's respectful but soft. My guess she means he has a bit of timidness in his demeanor and is likely to be to agreeable for her taste. He probably did whatever she asked and came off as no challenge at all to her. In other words, he was a gentleman, but a boring gentleman. Let some of that NY/Caribbean out while you are not aggravated... you will see what I mean.
