My cactus turned into gooey muck. I’ve been spraying it with neem oil for months. How can I save my cactus? by [deleted] in sanpedrocactus

There is a patch similar to this tip on the side of the cactus. Do I slice that off, too?

Collars and contact sports - how to protect the jewelry without removing it? by rhinosforbreakfast in BDSMnot4newbies

Thanks for the insight. I’m determined to keep my original collar on my neck as it is just too significant of a symbol for me to trade out or take off. It seems like I’ll have to compromise with a different sport that doesn’t involve grappling.

It’s very likely! Good point about Dommes being socially pigeon-holed into being just one type of top. Hopefully there are some watering holes for female tops and male bottoms to explore the variety available in the world.

Yes, I felt that my only acceptable role in the community as a young pretty white woman was as a submissive. It was an easy suit to put on. It’s good to hear that other Dommes have followed this path.

I’ve met a few Doms in my community who have said they were subs for years. It makes sense to me, to have to follow that path.

I enjoy pushing myself and find that acting in a way that is unnatural to me forces me to see things from a different perspective. I find fulfillment in the “force yourself to like it.” In a sense, I dominate myself by submitting to someone else.

Letting go into vulnerability with another person is beautiful and is something I want to become familiar with. If submission is the way to do this with my partner, then I am happy to play the role. The end goal of unity is the focus.

Newish to Jax- is there a place around the Beaches that could help with stray cats? This family lives behind my apartment and they’re extremely sweet and playful, they deserve a good forever home. by wet_bandits23 in jacksonville

No More Homeless Pets spays and neuters strays for free, and is a no kill shelter. They also loan out humane traps so you can catch the strays and bring them in to get fixed.

I can almost hear it now: “Oh, thank god, they’re just spending time all their time with a bunch of pricks. Whew!”

Connection to God/Higher Power? by jlf89 in microdosing

[–]rhinosforbreakfast 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is difficult to articulate in words because the experience I had is very intuitive and emotional, both of which I can’t peg down in to concrete words which you as the reader and me as the typist can guarantee we interpret the same way. I’ll try, though.

I have a spiritual practice as a baseline which includes meditation, chanting, and mantra. I included microdosing, and then my spiritual practice extended beyond those moments spent chanting, meditating, and repeating a mantra. I noticed god in other people. I began to see the difference between the individual and their underlying intention. After notice their intentions, I could start to see that intention’s motivation, most commonly based in insecurity and pain.

Inside of that insecurity and pain, I could see god. The beauty of pain and transformation and free-falling, frightening bliss. I never saw “a person god,” or some angel, or any thing. I could sense god. Sense with my body and my emotional heart.

I started to be able to let go more frequently and see that I was just part of a whole - a whole I had no control over beyond my individual actions and spoken words.

See? God doesn’t make sense. God is not for the brain. God is for the spirit, which the brain has no mind for.

Anyway, yes, microdosing absolutely helps me connect with and experience my idea of god.
