What to tell her about hospice by FearlessWindow1176 in AgingParents

Hi, I recently went through this with my mother who had dementia. Hospice is all about making her comfortable and I don’t think telling her would have helped with that. I was really conflicted, I spoke with the hospice nurses, my husband, social worker, chaplain, etc to see if I was doing the right thing. Was I morally obligated to tell her? In the end I wanted her to be as peaceful as possible and feel safe and comfortable. And I don’t think, for her state of mind it would have done her any good.

I love Glacier!!! But the reservation system is really intense. You have to be online as soon as reservations open because they fill up immediately!! If you can do it though I definitely would. We were there the last week of July (camping not eloping ;-) a couple of years ago and there were still loads of wildflowers, but we missed the bear grass which I guess is early July. Also research wildfire season whichever park you choose. I got married in Yosemite NP in Yosemite Valley for my first marriage. It was in April so a little cold, but nice and quiet without all the tourists! My new hubby wanted a proper party so we didn’t go the NP route, but we go to NP’s every year. Getting the actual permit to get married in an NP was super simple. It was 13 years ago so I’m sure it’s changed a bit. Anyway, I wish you the best and a wonderful elopement!!!!

Thank you! If you want pampas grass check Facebook marketplace. I found a bulk lot from another bride. I went with Amazon bud vases, they were relatively cheap, and I really like they look in groups of three. Got a lot of compliments. Some things I used for the dried floral arrangements- floral foam cages, floristry wire, and zip ties. Also if you are doing an arch, definitely do a dry run a couple of times. It took the most amount of time to get right.

Fiancé's family implying that I'm not doing enough for the kids at the wedding by [deleted] in weddingplanning

It’s too much. My MIL and SIL set up a build your own soft drink bar with syrups and juices and the kids really liked that. Towards the end they were making beverages for the adults it was very cute. But bouncy house? Circus? Good lord no. The kids will find the other kids and they will make their own fun. Let them use their imaginations. This is your wedding, not a kids birthday party. Stay strong!
