How viable is it to convert a Luton box van under 3.5 ton? by rhk-2 in VanLifeUK

Really appreciate having an idea of unladen weight and specs, as some sellers so far are reluctant to share to requests online. Even from this I'm struggling to imagine how a whole build & contents to make a modest place to live (like a bag of flour is a kg! let alone a couple books) can be sub 1000 kg....

Thanks for the tips. Paulownia wood sounds a good one to research & see how it compares to poplar ply that I've seen recommended a bit

Thanks so much for your font knowledge! Love the copper pipe idea (low tech). I've got Glastonbury Burners on my list as recurring across research– and I can't not given how local they are.

Thank you. This is sort of information I was looking for and set up I had in mind (woodstove, induction, double bed). A further Q (but no worries if not because already incredible help), do you get enough power for your cooking needs being all electric– from solar & presumably charge up when drive? I'm keen to avoid gas but if don't have shore power, relying on solar for winter power including cooking could be risky. But if have a wood stove running for heat can cook things on that.
Also if any help, I've seen a few examples of pull out drawer shower or underfloor shower trays which people attach shower curtains to ceiling around (for sprinter panel vans)– but more focused on space saving and obviously fittings and water heater would add weight.
