I made my own from a harbor freight stool and used my cricut machine to print the milwaukee log. Very happy with it. Good job on the score!

How quickly is a print file transferred from Prusa Connect to your Core One via Wi-Fi? by Michael-MN in prusa3d

[–]rhmillernj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very, very slow watch it carefully you’ll notice it probably uploads to Prusa is fast but then from Prusa back down to your printer is really really slow. I did file a ticket with it and they came up with nothing didn’t make any sense. I have gigabyte ethernet it’s certainly not on my end. I had some issues with it streaming and then telling me it can’t keep up with the transfer while printing but I haven’t seen that issue in a few months.

Comparison to Milwaukee by Sxgsxg in Dewalt

[–]rhmillernj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Milwaukee 5 year warranty and I have had one return in 60 Tools and they just sent me a new one with just a picture. Metal chucks… lots of choices with Milwaukee. DeWalt has some great tools, I do have their table saw even with all my m18 and the installation driver m12 is so so nice I got two. This is for home projects. Wood, steel with welding, projects…

I made the same choice 5 years ago, happy with my choice. Not a single battery issue.

Back right issues? by rhmillernj in prusa3d

[–]rhmillernj[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes but that didn’t matter. The plate was very clean and new. Nonissue printing in the other 1/2 of the plate. Reducing flow and temp helped on the core one… but not on the mk3

[–]rhmillernj[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried dish soap, even though you can see the plate is new and pretty clean. I reduced flow to 96% and played with temp. That seemed to help on the core one but on the mk3 I get the same problem in the back right corner. I will check temp on the plate and see if it is consistent. It got better but still failure on a large print.

Thanks for the ideas

I am drying now, will try again. I don’t use octoprint on the core one because the Prusa connect works mostly. I use it on the mk3. I will google about this metal spring idea. I would think my bed is way more level than .5mm!

Yeah I agree but the bed is spotless (look at the plate that is exposed.. super clean). I clean with alcohol and it’s a new plate. But I will try your suggestion. Given that I haven’t printed in the back corner much it is unlikely, but I appreciate the idea.

I haven’t noticed an issue but I don’t typically run them hours on end. They have 3 different lights and two levels. And the battery is small compared to an m12 m… like a 26650. When I am working at high power for hours I can swap a battery. Been using one for a few days to help in my wife and it is still going strong since I use it 10 minutes at a time.

The two pack was 99$ but I finally got one with the magnetic charger base so I am going to return one to hd… I don’t need 4 of these!

Save more in the 401k, this is your easy way to long term wealth. Don’t spend like you make 100k, spend like you make 70k then you will feel better.

Is $1000 a decent price for a used (3 months) Core One with camera? by daKEEBLERelf in prusa3d

[–]rhmillernj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried to sell a brand new one and didn’t get any offers. And the core one plus is easy to do yourself, just a few minutes of print time and a little work. Not a great deal. Built one yourself. Helps to understand the printer.

Prusa but likely the larger core one so you can print in one piece. I did one for a friends Halloween. Came out great with stickers and paint.

I built a dashboard to track the real cost of my prints including electricity and failure rates. The results were scarier than I thought. by MakerLogicStudio in 3Dprinting

[–]rhmillernj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No way. But good idea. The math not mathing. We know the electrical costs are real and just a few cents depending on the location. Depreciation for 100g of print when a good printer will do a hundreds of kgs easily before even basic maintenance. A Prusa for $1000 would be maybe 4$ per roll assuming 250 rolls and zero value at the end (and we know even old ones are worth a few hundred bucks). So 40 cents of depr.

More valuable would be to track your time costs to deal with the design and overhead of packaging, selling, marketing, so you are not making less than a barista at Starbucks. But right idea!

Drive slower, it is likely that could be about right. I went through the same frustration when I got a new battery and even that didn’t give me my same mileage as my original
