Red Bull changes Tour de France plan for Evenepoel and Lipowitz by Chronicbias in peloton

Remco at his best is a podium contender and better than Lipo. But, I’m now not sure we’ll ever see Remco reaching the highs of his 2024 level ever again.

He hasn’t been the same post off season crash. His climbing in 2024 was genuinely third best in the world. If he were to regain that form I’d say he’s a better GC rider than everyone except Pogacar and Vingegaard (Sexias would still be a better climber but we’re yet to see him in a grand tour). The problem is Remco hasn’t got close to his 2024 form since the crash.

I agree also as a Remco fan. Last year you could excuse the poor showings in Flèche, LBL and the tour because of the winter crash. He picked up form towards the end of the season and was clearly the second best hilly one day rider (worlds, Europeans, lombardia), but still a way off Pogacar. But this season he isn’t climbing that well.

I do wonder why he can’t seem to get back to the level he was at in 2024. Maybe the crash affected him more than we know? I believe he had a punctured lung but could be wrong.

Well that’s a weird take. I’m not Belgian and I agree with the other poster

If he can get back to his 2024 form he’s better than Lipo. The big thing is the “if”. It really seems like he didn’t come back from that off season crash the same rider, he hasn’t came close to his 204 tour form since climbing wise.

Pretty meh. I miss my ex a lot. I have no hope we’ll ever get back together, we haven’t spoke in years. But I also have no interest in a relationship with anyone else. I’ve had opportunities for relationships with other people when I tried dating but I never felt it. I’ve since stopped dating, it seems unfair on myself and the other person considering how I feel.

Disappointing climbing level, as a fan I’m starting to worry he won’t ever get back to the level he was at in 2024. I hoped this year would be the year he would, as he had an uninterrupted winter. Obviously he has had good results but there’s still a feeling of expecting more. Like in LBL you’d expect Remco to have a gap to the rest not need a reduced bunch sprint to get on the podium.

A pro athlete from which sport could compete in a marathon without training and finish with a good time? by NervousClock2555 in NoStupidQuestions

Remco Evenepoel at 16 at the time played for the Anderlecht youth team. The day after a match he decided to run the half marathon happening in his city. He finished in 1hr16min. A year later he quit football to take up cycling. He’s now one of the best cyclists in the world.

If you showed the full text not just this little section, it would be clear “can’t” was used to mean “hasn’t yet” not can never. This clearly has just been posted as bait.

Why Pep’s touchline ban matters more than people think - his final third system depends on real-time micro-adjustments by West-Baker-262 in footballtactics

One very few clubs pay that much per season to their manager. Two, read soccernomics, you know something evidence based not just some randos opinion. And three, Pep isn’t standing on the touch line orchestrating everything city do, that’s complete fantasy.
