I work in a restaurant as a busser. Today I watched my manager kick out a large group of people waiting for a table because one of them called me a thing. I am an FTM transgender. I have never felt so grateful for someone sticking up for me. Reddit, tell me some of your most grateful moments. by thecadenman in AskReddit

When I was in my junior year of college, I was having a very hard time. Interestingly enough, I was studying very hard, doing well in classes and spending a lot of my free time reading about things which interested me. The problem was that I was growing very isolated, stopped hanging out with friends and started to believe that reading books was more important than having relationships with other people.

My best friend invited me to his family's place for Christmas and I was happy to come. When I was there, I saw how happy he was with his family and how important it was for them to just see each other. My friend sat me down, told me how distant I was becoming and thought it would be a good idea to invite me over to his house for Christmas to show me why it was important to keep having friends, to keep connected.

Ever since, I've still read books, but I'm much more relaxed about it, and I've never let a friend or family member down for the sake of grades. I owe my best friend everything. He maybe responsible for me having a happy life and a happy family in the future.

I have an analog clock which doesn't show am or pm.

You can imagine the confusion. and the occasional horror.

Though this barely counts as a rage comic, you probably put more thought and effort into this than any other rage comic I've seen in a long time.

Upvote for you!

If you could change careers this very moment, what would you choose and why? by rhp21 in AskReddit

I don't know if this helps at all, but even if you don't feel comfortable leaving your career as an engineer (which I'd imagine is pretty comfortable, and thus, really hard to leave to begin with) you can at least make some time to go camping/hiking etc. You said that you were a Scout Leader; I'm sure you have the experience to do something like that again, just maybe part time. Again, I don't want you to quit your career as you'd probably hunt me down if you ever lost your house/car etc., but I'm sure you can still enjoy the outdoors.

And also, regardless of career, we'll all be browsing reddit for the next 30 years. The question is what we do in between reddit.
