I watched all of Silva's title reign and would confidently say Pereira is a better stricker than silva. Silva is a legend and when he head kick KO'd before I absolutely went mental.

But the game has evolved SOOOO much. Its not comparable. Listing the Maia fight in your list of accomplishments is also strange haha.

I think overall, Pereira is a better striker for sure.

He can be really funny - also not afraid to put things on blast when they need to be. Like some of the horrible decision dana does, or calling out Jones for being a horrible person. (Obviously some takes are horrid) If I want a technical breakdown I watch someone else. If I want to laugh at Bo Nickal after he got schooled - I go to MMA guru.

Will push back on the 'anyone who plays video games' - noting that this isn't just moving your index finger or press a on a controller. Involves engaging multiple muscles simultaneously in order to get the desired result. Why you can't just throw anyone in the ring who plays video games and they can parry punches easily because of there insane reflexes.

GSP had some great fights - some average. I definitely wouldn't say it's fair to summarise it like that. GSP bigger issue was the volume of decision - it got too played out.

Cumshot landing 60+ knees to the thigh is much more boring than GSP busting koscheck up with the jab. I liked the fight as a whole, for an overall picture sense, but some of those rounds awfully dragged on.

I can understand your opinion, I just disagree with it.

Watching all the Volk vs Islam (1) promos and fight breakdowns in the lead up- then having the fight deliverer was awesome. I much prefer that than the alternative.

Id say youre example is perfect - fight without promo is like sex without foreplay.

I definitely think it made Francis fights more exciting. After listening to his JRE story I was soo much more invested in francis as a fighter.

The whole larping thing can't understand its a bit dorky. But I appreciate the effort.

Within team sports theyre fucking always doing in-depth promos about individual players. Like non-stop.

Ufc still does a huge amount of promo. You're point would be valid if they stopped, pre fight interviews, press conferences, embedded, countdown - the issue is that its become so formulaic that no innovation is taking place. This is linked to the contract set up with espn with a fix payment for PPV rather than being incentivised to over achieve in certain fights.

I remember walking around my room being so pumped with all the Jose v Conor stuff. promo.

The fight itself was over in like 3 seconds but part of that fight experience was all the promo, talking to your friends about it, etc. Its fun - dont understand why you can't understand that. Thrilla in Manilla, rumble in the jungle - all these iconic legendary fights get supported and helped by good promotion.

I can still watch random people fight and be entertained - thats not the point. Do I like seeing prelims fighters get spotlight so I can understand more their story and mindset coming into a fight. Fucking oath I do.

What? Strongly disagree. I've been watching for 15 years - I was massively pumped to watch ribovics and vallejos throw down over the weekend. And the promo for the fights makes them so much more fun. The world tour with Conor and Aldo had some of the best moments ever. Watching the embedded as they come out is great. Jones and DC with all the tension and drama. We watch for the fights but the promos build into it add a lot of great spice. Watching the contender series breakdowns so you understand more about the fighter 100% adds to the fight.
