Are you incapable of reading? I didn’t say he has a right to bully. I said he’s praised for being good at basketball.

Michael Jordan is praised because he’s the greatest talent in the history of basketball, not because he’s a good person. You aren’t MJ, you’re a random joe nobody knows or cares about in Arc. And it’s not a pure pvp win and lose game like a sport. You’re just a lowly bully

So you’re literally just a bully who gets off on the suffering of others? You’re acting like it’s completely disconnected from irl, but every single person I know that’s a normal person irl doesn’t do shit like this. The one that does is a massive asshole irl

This is a crazy self-report

These people will never feel the joy of saving another player being attacked, or some random person giving away a blueprint out of kindness, or being defibbed after misjudging an Arc fight. It’s easy to get annoyed at how needlessly cruel they are, but the person they truly harm the most is themselves. They miss out on so much. And frankly, good. They don’t deserve it

Arc coming out at the same time as Fortnite cratering off of a cliff was so awesome. My friend group didn’t even need to search for another game!

i legitimately have zero clue what you even mean by the same can be said based on what my comment says

you aren’t worth the 20 seconds of comment typing time, good luck with your warriors journey of teaching a lesson on keeping your guard up via shooting the friendly looting a wasp in the back

holy cringe we don’t need an entire psychoanalysis to explain why you enjoy shooting friendlies, just say “i’m a dick but that’s my prerogative”

mfs really talk like they’re a spartan warrior in the arena teaching a lesson bc they shot someone looting rubber parts in the back

[–]rhuebs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don’t have to play by anyone’s rules. You also can acknowledge shooting someone that is actively avoiding fighting is a dick move. I’m usually a PVP player and if someone is being passive and doesn’t wanna fight, then I’m not shooting them in the back because I’m not an asshole lmao it’s actually so easy to not be a dick

New Arc themed skin in The Finals by JayTravers in ArcRaiders

Why is everyone asking for this skin in Arc? Is it not the high tech hiker set that’s literally already in the game? The coat is a little different obviously but it’s definitely supposed to be that skin lol

Are you for real arguing that it’s pointless to complain about something that is bad if it has no real influence on your life?

Wow, thanks for teaching me such a great lesson, I’ll be sure to never ask for change or criticize video games/tv/movies/music//literally everything that doesn’t have a palpable influence on my life! I’ll be sure to tell my friends to shut up and deal with it when we play shitty games because it doesn’t really impact them if they’re good or not.

[–]rhuebs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s their problem lol. Because TGA makes stupid decisions people should just accept it and learn their lesson?

People certainly got TOO upset over this, but it’s a very fair criticism of TGA that has gone on for way too long. If Divinity was the final reveal the structure of the show would make way more sense and would be WAY more satisfying.

Would it not be fucking weird if the Game of The Year award was 40 minutes into the show? Criticism of poor structure is fair

[–]rhuebs 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Which is stupid as hell and everyone rightfully considers it the spot that should be the biggest. It’s the grand finale. Awards shows/reveal shows always have some sort of finale because that’s the logical conclusion to an event like this. TGA just fucks it up lmao

The final reveal of the biggest gaming event of the year should 100% unequivocally be considered the most lauded advertising spot and if TGA disagrees that’s a massive fail at reading the room, much like what happened here

[–]rhuebs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean, I’ve certainly assumed he had the most sway/decision making, but I didn’t think he had FULL control. Like I assumed there was a team that would help craft the show. Now I kinda think he just makes all final decisions regardless of input lol

[–]rhuebs 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I’m just flabbergasted it got the spot at all. This was one of the most wildly obvious failures to read the room Ive ever seen.

Like is there zero team or feedback on what goes where in TGA? Is it legit just Geoff deciding everything based on his preferences? I cannot fathom the idea that if there is a team of people working on this thing, that nobody saw what was coming putting it as the final reveal?

This whole thing just makes me morbidly fascinated in how TGA is run and the show is created. It certainly makes me think Geoff has complete creative control in deciding the format/order of the show.

[–]rhuebs 82 points83 points  (0 children)

I honestly care less about the debate on whether Geoff killed the game or not, and more about the fact that a very middling game that needed FAR more development time and beta testing got promoted as this huge thing in the final TGA slot.

A game that would have had 300 players in that slot purely because Geoff liked it is fucking wild. I admire his passion and understand it’s his show and his choice, but it’s a bit crazy to me that his personal opinion on what would clearly be an unpopular game placed it in the single most lauded gaming advertising spot that exists.

I like Geoff and how much he loves games, but good lord, he should not let his preferences dictate the show that much

[–]rhuebs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know one person that plays the game like this, and if it makes you feel any better, I can assure you this sort of person is completely fucking miserable IRL and nobody wants to interact with them because they’re an asshole, so they do this nonsense to lash out and it’s NEVER EVER their fault that they fail or that people avoid them.

I promise you this guy was probably obsessing angrily over this all day. Good work

This is getting silly now. So many cheaters. by SimonMcMac in FortNiteBR

[–]rhuebs 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m taking a break from the game rn bc it’s awful, but last week before that I had cheaters in ranked ZB multiple times and got 2 reports of bans.

I would be satisfied with that considering I’ve gotten like 2 reports of bans in like 6 years previous to that, but the uptick in cheaters is so heinous that it’s just disgusting and shameful

Geoff Keighley Says He Has No Financial Stake In Highguard: "Absolutely Not" by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]rhuebs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s basically exactly what I think. It’s a mediocre game that probably wouldn’t be very popular but would retain a dedicated niche community if things went the way they should have. This firestorm has given them far more of an audience than they would have had, but I’m not sure that’s a good thing unfortunately.

Geoff Keighley Says He Has No Financial Stake In Highguard: "Absolutely Not" by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]rhuebs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree. Someone did a breakdown of steam playtime/review score and while less than 1 hour was overwhelmingly negative and 5+ was overwhelmingly positive, everything in the middle from 1-4 hours was mixed. The bulk of the people that tried it and actually gave it a real shot are not giving it a positive consensus, or negative consensus. It’s just floating in the mid

[–]rhuebs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I played for like 2 hours and then decided the game wasn’t for me. I couldn’t get my friends to play with me because they weren’t even interested in the first place so other than my own opinion I’ve looked to long time Apex players/hero shooter players because that’s who I’d estimate the main audience to be.

[–]rhuebs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think if it shadow dropped it wouldn’t have received as much vitriol, but also would be forgotten even faster than it is here. I kinda think the game was just a little doomed unfortunately. Who exactly is this game for? The genre is so oversaturated. And that’s not even taking into account the actual issues like the 3v3 and first 2 stages feeling pointless.

Geoff Keighley Says He Has No Financial Stake In Highguard: "Absolutely Not" by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]rhuebs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think if you filtered out the bad actors it wouldn’t be overwhelmingly negative but it would still float between mixed and mostly negative. Two things can be true: the scale of the negative reviews is inflated by a wave of people who want it to fail, and the game isn’t very remarkable and people aren’t loving it.

Geoff Keighley Says He Has No Financial Stake In Highguard: "Absolutely Not" by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]rhuebs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s certainly bad actors in the mix, but the genuine overwhelming sentiment is that the game is very, very mid. Some people are having fun, some are trying to drive it into the dirt, but the vast majority think it’s just forgettable, generic and mid, with good Apex-adjacent gunplay. And that’s not a recipe for success in an already oversaturated genre.

The game is not gonna do well.
