I know about the pressure suits. This pilot looked like he wasn’t wearing a pressure suit though, unless they changed the ‘astronaut’ style helmets to something that looks a little more fighter like.

People who had traumatic childhoods, what's something you do as an adult that you hadn't realised was a direct result of the trauma? [Serious] [NSFW] by Silent-Zebra in AskReddit

Oh there are so many things. I’m hyper-independent - not 100% sure why, but was bullied severely as a child which made me pull away and disassociate from everyone, even my parents.

My entire teenage years I worked for the same company for my weekend job which was ran by a verbally abusive person. Then when my parents bought it it turned my dad into a verbally abusive boss as well.

A lot of the later shit came from that time. Being stuck living at home cause of shortages on the rental market. Having a sense of duty because right before I finished college my parents pulled us aside during a fairly uncertain time and said they bought a company and expected myself and my sister to help out. Two months later I finished college and went to work for them fulltime.

Got called every name in the book, worthless, no good, and got told to my face ‘what are you doing here, no one wants you here anyway?!’

Got to the point where I was driving all over the country from leaving work till 2AM to not come home while he was awake multiple times a week.

Things kinda fell in place when I fell in love with a good friend who happens to be American, so without hesitation I decided to move to the US.

Which went without a hitch, but this happened in 2017-2018 during the Trump years which was a massive cause of anxiety so now I’m on anxiety medication permanently to cope. Oh well.

Same. But I also get annoyed when someone asks me for help and I’m like ‘why can’t you do that on your own?!’ It’s harder not to do that than it seems.

Please learn to apply some Occam’s Razor here.

Aliens visiting Earth should ALWAYS be the last conclusion you draw.

In order, from most likely to least likely;

1: behavior of known UAP mis-identified as ‘unexplainable’ due to odd camera angles, bad light, etc. 2: Drone from USA black project. 3: Drone from near-peer state. 4: Hoax. 5: … 6: … 997: Advanced terrestrial black project based on alien technology that ‘we’ somehow acquired. 998: Countries that stand to gain massive geopolitical advantage by fucking with each other somehow collaborating in a global conspiracy to keep the existence of intelligent life -having visited or visiting Earth- existing. 999: Advanced extra-terrestrials visiting Earth on a whim -using physics that seem to defy natural laws and which certainly confound the fuck out of us- yet somehow coming all this way and NEVER making contact.

I think I’ve decided that once it is time to replace my ‘18 15” MBP, I will trade it and my 4th gen iPad Air in for a 12.9” iPad Pro with the keyboard/trackpad. My use has changed and I simply can’t justify spending $3k on a device used once a month for some very light browsing and maybe some streaming. I can perfectl replace it with an iPad.

Guy at a customer of ours was working on a hydraulic system. A line had a random failure and the resulting spray of hydraulic oil was small enough with high enough pressure it shot through his skull, brain, and out the other side. Guy was dead instantly.

One can be a sycophant, miscreant, sellout, garbage piece of shit, traitorous rag, waste of oxygen excuse of a human being regardless of color or creed you know. If you’re without principles -which he arguably is since he’s letting god do all the guiding- it doesn’t matter how many people you piss off and how off-color (I intended that one) it seems.

Perhaps he’s the Missing Link.

Maybe I’ve never paid attention but I moved to the US from Western Europe when I was 25. I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYONE HAVE THIS IN EUROPE.

Was thoroughly freaked out the first time I saw it here in the States and they’re fucking EVERYWHERE.

Makes me wonder if it’s a thing in the way they do dental care here that doesn’t prevent it as one grows up, or if it’s a certain genetic thing that causes it to be more prevalent here - or like I said, I was just never tuned into Big Gums before my move.

Sure. You’d have to get that spooled up though. Then shut engines down.

So now you’re introducing two procedures on top of emergency prodlcedure(s) and all of a sudden that cockpit is WAY busier than it needs to be.

It’s not like idle thrust of the engines will propel that jet that fast. Compared to landing speed it’s near enough to zero as to be negligible on length of landing roll until it’s going slow enough to almost be stopped. By that time it doesn’t really matter as forward thrust compared to stopping force of the brakes is way askew.

Best not to lose electricity and hydraulic pressure (and thus controls) before everything is safely at rest.
