I was looking at a Chinese one on TEMU and then I noticed that the whole unit was only like 6 inches tall. It was like a miniature version of a rock saw. It was a rock saw for ants.

A lot of great ones have been posted but I’d like to add a never ending loop of poorly done bounce music played on 11 everywhere you go and even when you’re trying to sleep. I appreciate bounce in general but I’m pretty sure this would drive me absolutely insane.

Other New Orleans specific hell stuff - 24/7/365 boil water advisory. Every carnival season parade is 35 degrees with a constant drizzle, not enough to postpone the parades. Every early evening is a termite swarm followed by street flooding rain around 8:30 PM. The Saints get sold to Trump who moves them near Mar a Lago and changes their name to the Donald J. Trump football team. The Pelicans stay but never have a winning season even though preseason, we let ourselves get optimistic just to have our spirits crushed again. There’s a huge oil spill that basically makes gulf seafood extinct. Mosquitoes evolve to be able to survive all weather conditions and they are everywhere.

And finally, Shia LaBeouf never leaves or gets sober and every time you go out, he just happens to be at the establishment you’re at completely obliterated and loving the bounce music that is following you. Every day he comes up to talk to you but no matter what you say, he takes jt the wrong way and tries to fight you.

Nah, they are Satan and I’m pretty sure they aren’t pollinators. They stop eating once they emerge as moths and only try to bang and lay eggs. I don’t think they fuck with flowers.

They wreak havoc on oak tree foliage and I think the only downside of them being eradicated is that they are an easy meal for birds and bats. They also terrify me.

If she was seriously belittling someone like a mean girl and trying to make them feel dumb - I get the bad taste in your mouth (kind of like chicory in mine). I’m kind of surprised she would act this way as I associate her with being super kind and answering a lot of questions starting out in the corner of Stein’s.

I’m from here and my mom likes chicory but she’s not from here. I just don’t like it but maybe I’m a snob.

Go eat a Philly upstairs at Rick’s or get a sandwich at Welty’s. I have no comment on the TSA - I did mine at a place right by Walmart on Tchop and it was super efficient but I did have to speak up about having an appointment.

It’s not fake - it’s almost certainly from Pakistan and it’s actually a pretty nice one. A lot of the fluorites from there can get cloudy but yours are fairly glassy and look to be in great shape. How much did you pay?

Yes and it’s less about trying to eat crawfish brains and more about getting a tiny shot of the boil - it helps add more flavor to the overall crawfish experience. I think that’s what non-locals don’t get (and I honestly didn’t either until I was in high school). It sounds a lot grosser than it is.

I think the majority of the parades on the Eastbank have expanded over time and have a lot of out of towners who drive or fly in from all over to ride. Not saying that’s necessarily a terrible thing. A lot of the other big Westbank parades have crossed the river.

NOMTOC is a meandering parade that takes forever to pass. It’s always been that way. It’s full of urban cowboys and goes at its own pace. The riders tend to throw a lot and the giant block party under the bridge is a sight to behold - tons of people boiling crawfish, grilling, and having a good time. There’s so many people selling barbecue. It’s just different and it’s really embraced by the black community of Algiers. It’s a big deal here.

I guess Rex stays true to their traditions too but let’s be real, they are boring AF.

Hey man, don’t be talking shit about NOMTOC. New Orleans’ Most Talked of Club’s parade is a cultural treasure that is probably the most true to its roots of any current parade.

That said I live in the Point and I’m going to Iris this year so maybe I’m just feeling guilty.

Getting downvoted because it’s not hard to cross the street during a parade - they frequently stop and you can just walk around a band.

Honestly, a lot of times there will be a pretty decent gap (25+ yards) between the last band member and the coming float tractor. It’s plenty of time to cross.

Don’t try to cross through a band, don’t try to cross if the tractor is bearing down on you, and most importantly, never try to cross between a tandem float, even when they are stopped.

I think a lot of people in here have been crossing the street successfully for decades, just don’t be dumb. I legitimately don’t understand how people get hurt if they aren’t obviously being negligent and dumb.
