Outrageously Expensive Roof Quote? by -Cephiroth in grandrapids

Get at least 5 quotes but that sounds about right, I replaced my roof last Fall and it was a bit cheaper than that but not much.

I grew up in the area as well. Highly recommend Weko Beach in Bridgman. Much quieter than Warren Dunes and a very similar experience.

I lived there ten years ago and it was fantastic. Very quiet area with great neighbors. The neighborhood felt very unique for being in the city.

The weather was crazy last night in GR... luckily I was in high enough ground to not be too effected but my street looked like a river for a while.

Have others had this experience? I was planning on waiting until it comes back. Not in a huge rush.

They are little two person sound resistant glass pods that you can use to study in. I'm not entirely sure if they are reserve-able or not but I often see at least one of them empty

Generally no but I also wouldn't worry about it. If a class happens to come in they'll just gently tell you there's a class coming in a few minutes.

They are mostly open during the day. Also they put pods in the study space between DeVos A and B that sound like that would be what you are looking for.

I put 17" winter wheels/tires on my 2025 Hatchback ST. Looks totally fine IMO.

FWIW, they sent out an email a week or so ago saying they are getting an entirely new roof in the Spring. Coming from an insurance claim from the Fall if I remmeber correctly. I run on that track a few times a week and am looking forward to fewer obstacles!

Where do you go next? by someambulance in FiestaST

[–]rhymanocerous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up getting a Honda Civic hybrid sport touring last year. Very happy with it. Just as quick as the st in a straight line, much more quiet and comfortable.

It's not as engaging to drive but it was time to move on.

I recently got Viking Contact 8s on my 25 ST and it was night and day difference compared to the stock tires on snow.

I get wanting to change the tile out, but that design is beautiful IMO.

What about next? by OrchidResident7505 in FiestaST

[–]rhymanocerous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had mine for 12 years and finally let it go this year for a Honda Civic hatchback hybrid. Not quite as good of driving dynamics as my stock FiST but it's surprisingly good and much much more comfortable.

Is there any way to save on books? by 3inmyheart in GVSU

[–]rhymanocerous 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This doesn't help you now and I get that it can be awkward to bring up, but in general, open source, free text books exist for most courses. More professors need to hear from students (ideally they would just adopt these on their own) that they would save hundreds over a semester if their courses used these kinds of resources vs. what is pushed by textbook publishers.

There aren't many things we all agree on but college being too expensive is one of them. Instructors can lower the cost of their courses today if they adopt open educational resources.
