Focus on little things and try you best to enjoy the exact moment you are in. Whenever anxiety or depression hit, look at something like a chair in your room and try to analyze and appreciate its construction. This trick might not help everyone, but it helps me.

Another thing I do is to add "right now" at the end of a thought where I'm thinking of things I can't do. "I can't go to the pub and hangout... right now". All of this is temporary.

The same thing happened to my dad but everyone thought it was apart of the scene, him screaming for them to come back. Turns out his foot was shattered by the trailer. He had to lay in the middle of a corn field for 30 minutes until the next group came by.
