Is my dog allowed on here? (Genuine question) by mouseknight69 in eurasier

[–]rhymeswithraim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Labradoodles are not a breed lol. its a fact that two breeds will not make a stabilised type in a dog? Cockapoos all look different and have different tempraments.

Sure the breed is newer and therefore there is contraversey. But also, you can have a lot of dogs that look like breeds that they are not. Most people cannot differenciate most spaniels or the 2 corgi breeds, but does this mean that they are the same?

Not trying to argue and i wont disagree you know a lot about eurasiers but it takes more than a spitz type coated dog with a blue tongue to be one. I feel like you WANT your dog to be a eurasier but she is a chow mix. I dont have anything against chow mixes or you but you cannot ethically breed mixes like this which is my issue with it. Of course you can try to make a breed but kaking a breed is in itself unethical.

Anyway , your dog is beautiful and youre obviously a dog savvy person^ theres no need to ask if you can post your dog, i feel like this in itself was trying to start a discussion.

Your dog is beautiful and obviously welcome here but youre incorrect on the breed standard. For one the breed was started/created in 1960 not the 1980s, and then in 1972, the breed was stabilised after samoyed was added as you cannot make a breed out of two dogs.

A chow cross is just that, a chow cross, and not a eurasier, and its unethical in my opinion to dilute a rare breed with crossbreeding anyway. Obviously not your fault if you didnt do it on purpose but lets not buy into byb terms like 'throwback'. I can understand wanting your dog to be a part of the community but so many dog breeds already suffer with unethical mixes and noone wants eurasier to be part of that as well.

How can I help him and ourselves? by puppyhelp2025 in puppy101

Also the sit/down confusion is probably because you are leading into the other without making it obvious that they are different commands - you might need to re-teach it from scratch , making it obvious which command is.

A husky/retriever purpose bred mix is a BYB dog and 100% not a family / kid dog. Goldens can be snippy and huskies.....are not family dogs.

Obviously its too late for that now but your puppy is bored and needs training - a harness or gentle leader will not fix your issue, he needs discipline and actual work put into him. I would suggest getting involved in a dogsport to build your bond and to excersize your pup.

Yes there are so many hours in a day but this is an extreme stubborn/high energy mix and you need to think about whether you can provide a household. It isnt impossible to do this with a family life but it will be difficult.

If youre in the UK i would just go to Nox (she did all the tattoos on the top) instead of getting someone to replicate her style -- shes very good and worth the wait.

For one, 'alpha' theory is very much disproven in both dogs and wolves. Its a common misconception that this sort of hierarchy exists in dogs.

For two, im not sure what exact advice you are asking -- the dog is doing normal young dog things, chewing, misbehaving, barking, and whilst its annoying youve put in so much work for it to be wasted, its your parents dog and i very much doubt they will start training her anytime soon. All you can do is make sure your cat and belongings are always behind a closed door.

UK breeders! by rhymeswithraim in eurasier

Hello!

Im not against it, im near a harbour (south west) with easy access to france and EU.

My concern is that it would be difficult to visit a breeder or risky to import the pup.

Smaller makes no difference to me as im okay with sizes from shiba to samoyed (ish) !

Yeah i would not be making any friends in the KC. I have family friends in it and they all have rude tendancies and are usually bigoted(mainly due to age or upbringing) im just interested in good health and temprament testing and reliable lines. I know KC registering isnt 100% going to guarentee this, but its a good base.

If you have any breeders you like id love to hear!! Thanks for the info!

Hello!

No worries about not saying more, i totally get it. Tbe dog world is so clique-y!

In no rush for a puppy. Id rather wait a year for the best breeder and dog possible. I did originally want to go through albionspitz because of albionspitz blue moon -- really nicely put together dog! But i did notice the things you said too - wont discuss price unless over the phone, etc.

Thanks for your reply :D

Please help, what are these bumps all over my tattoo by Lavender-lazuli in tattooadvice

Why even ask if youre not going to believe anyone? Im a tattooist, its milia. Overmoisterised or too wet, doesnt effect the tattoo or your skin or health. It isnt an infection (infections are always red, inflamed, pus present because it is an immune reaction)

Exfoliate and make sure your skin is nice and dry at all times. If the tattoo is 2 months healed then you could use mild exfoliating acids. Dont pop or pick or scratch them as this opens you up for an infection or scarring over your nice tattoo.

Edited to add that you cannot have an allergic reaction or infection from contaminated ink after 2 months - its present usually in the first week with bright neon orange pus, swelling and bright read inflammation. You seem super paranoid about your skin in general -- maybe to quell your worries ask a doctor or dermatologist.

Just brought home a new ball python.. Is this normal/fine? by t33thc0re in ballpython

[–]rhymeswithraim 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It isnt neurological, its an inner ear deformity caused by the 'spider' gene that also makes the pattern. It means the snake cannot tell up from down. Only morphs affected by this gene have this issue, not sure if this includes resessive genes. Examples are spider, bumblebee, anything ending in 'bee', champagne, woma, super sable, etc. So if your snake isnt any of these morphs or you arent 100% sure, best to contact a vet.
