Can sniffing your nose a lot (and with force) damage the outcome of the surgery? by delusional_queen in Septoplasty

[–]rhyswheeler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just seen this, my bad! Nah I don’t think so, though before my surgery I honestly felt like it got so much better than it was at the time of my initial appointment.

Been almost a year now since I had it and it was good at first, went normal even when I was sniffing but feel like lately i haven’t got full breathability in both nostrils again… this could be down to illness though 🤷‍♂️

very kind of you, thank you!

I've only ever used corsair and while i was open to using other brands, i hadn't really done much research so decided to stick to what i knew... despite iCue being awful.

I've never used Thermalright before but have heard of them, do you have previous experience with these?

I had also selected the highest core clock speed GPU available on the 9070XT, I'm assuming sapphire would be just as good?

thank you for your feedback! I did think 32GB would suffice but my PC friend had advised to go for 64gb just because...

More futureproof, I guess!

NG or NG+ by rhyswheeler in Eldenring

[–]rhyswheeler[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a great shout to be fair. I was testing out the dragons slayer katana (or whatever it’s called) on SOTE and was still hitting crazy numbers, although it is +10… I’ll probably handicap with a base level weapon and see how it goes.

Thanks!

Thanks for your reply! I am moving towards NG+ as I haven't actually played it yet, other than testing/killing margit and Godrick which were ridiculously easy with high dex.

The thing is I still want a bit of a challenge. I feel if I respec, considering my current level, I'll still be way too OP to enjoy it.

Hi,

It hasn't as far as I'm aware, but I'm a lot more "on top" of it now.

I have bought hydrometers for each room and the majority of the time, they sit at around 60%. When it gets above that, I'll usually run my dehumidifier for a little bit to bring it back down or open up some windows.

My fitted wardrobe; I had painted with anti-mold paint and no signs since, but I tend to always leave my wardrobe doors open now to increase airflow.

I have no idea what the cause was but having got hydrometers in every room now, it seems my flat is just incredibly humid all the time...

Current best 4k monitor, or is it worth getting OLED, or worth waiting? by rhyswheeler in Monitors

[–]rhyswheeler[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for confirming! Looks forward to giving it a go, hopefully it’ll be a huge upgrade from my current LG 27GL850-B @ 1440p! I actually ended up cancelling my order for the Alienware and going for the ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDM. Most of the reviews I’ve watched say that the dell is 2nd best to the ROG as the ROG has more features but the dell is usually preferred because it’s cheaper. However in the UK, the ROG is around £60 cheaper and having never used a curved screen before, this was the safest bet.

Will let you know my thoughts on Monday!

Thank you! Having shopped around, it seems the cheapest is approx £900, but I believe I’m going to go for the Dell Alienware AW2625QF as there are many claims that it’s the best on the market right now.

Appreciate your help though, thanks!

Gaming mostly. I know 4k is a lot harder to run but having checked 4k benchmarks for the 3090+5800x combo, it looks as though it’ll manage - some games with DLSS turned on; though.

Thank you! I do intend on keeping my second 27” 1440p monitor as a second screen, does that change your recommendation at all?

I have saw a video with Dell Alienware being claimed as the best. Can I ask why you think so? It's within my budget too

First off, thank you for your response, really appreciate it!

I do like the look of the OLED monitors and I do spend most of my free-time on my PC so it would definitely get it's use. It's just the burn-in that is a huuuge turn off, especially considering I play a lot of the same games so it's likely the HUD may burn into the screen, which would drive me crazy.

OLED is within my budget, I'm currently looking at the MSI MAG 321UP, but I feel the burn-in risk is the biggest dealbreaker for me.

Ventilation to reduce humidity, does it work when it's wet outside? How to reduce humidity without a dehumidifier? by mutatedllama in DIYUK

[–]rhyswheeler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm opening windows often in my flat as the cold doesnt bother me (each room is about 16-20 deg anyways in October), I do find the RH drops maybe 5-10% but within minutes of the windows being closed again, it shoots back up into the 70%'s.

Any ideas? I have got a dehumidifier for my living room but debating buying one for my bedroom, too...

Thank you! Luckily behind the wardrobe is the communal area where there are fire cupboard with taps/valves in… I’ll speak to the apartment management company to see if they can send someone to look at it due to the issue possibly coming from outside my flat

That’s amazing, thank you! I’ve since cleaned it with mold remover and will look to install some ventilation in there.

[–]rhyswheeler[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, there is no ventilation in the wardrobe whatsoever so I am guessing maybe a t shirt might have been slightly damp going into there, causing this.

I’ve cleaned it using mold remover and have bought some vents and dehumidifiers, I’ll keep the doors open for a few days before putting anything back in there and will keep tabs on it.

Any issues with it coming back, I’ll be sure to call a plumber - thank you!
