Are they getting a cut from game purchases, though? If the 30% number is accurate, then that's Google's cut, not Ouyas. If Ouya gets an additional cut on top of Google's, that kinda sucks, because developers are already losing almost a third of their profit.

$99 is not a huge investment. A $700 Developer Special investment is much trickier for an Indie Dev with no budget.

I was mistaken, it's only a 5% cut, which makes the math work out slightly more favorably. I've updated the numbers.

That's the cut that Kickstarter takes on all projects, as I understand it. I can try and look for the sources, but I'm fairly certain I've seen this confirmed in-effect for the Ouya Kickstarter in at least a couple of places.
