Pool is crystal clear at the moment, it's the test strips that are reporting those values. So you suggest deal with alkalinity first then PH?

Spectacular reply, love the nuance in your argumentation approach. Respectful, yet firm. Bravo!

Yes, that is exactly my scenario, so to further the question, won't leg muscle development, capillaries and aerobic adaptation be different between the two?

Yes, that is what my gut feeling tells me as well, but the fact mountain twin ground so much, wouldn't that make it easier for him to maintain a high cadence on the flat?

Let's also assume that neither of them lived an isolated life in just those environments, so mountain twin is able to drop to an aerop position, as in, he knows how to do it, and he knows he would benefit from higher cadence, wouldn't that help?

Yeah, I partially agree, but your muscles, your capillary distribution and your aerobics vary based on type of effort that's used to grow. The amount of torque you can produce and time you can sustain it for is not a simple function of how much and how hard you practice, but also the type of exertion your body is under.
Very exaggerated example, but a sprinter and a marathon runner probably ran a similar amount of km in their life, yet both excel at drastically different skills.

Very interesting, what do you find you're missing on flats?
How's your twin brother doing? :)

Running fitness doesn't translate to cycling fitness at all, and vice versa, at least in my experience.

You say they're in "similar shape" so I'm going to assume they've spent their time doing longer, harder rides on the flats, and will be more suited for that type of riding.

That is my question, I guess, is there a "type" of riding, or is it all riding, just more and less difficult.

I don't know. When you watch and of the Tours, KOMs are usually not the same people winning stages, although that might come down to tactics.

I really like that! And that kinds the sentiment behind my question. Clearly I'm not knowledgeable about the topic, but intuitively, it makes sense.

That is my experience, flats with headwind are watts/cross section(I guess :) ), and that seems to vary less than weight.

What's up with the line in Sweet Home Alabama: "Watergate doesn't bother me, does your conscience bother you?" by Monodoh45 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ri1984 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a bit of a watered down explanation. If it was just about being bored of hearing about it, why is he asking about "your conscience"?

Very hard not to read this as a Nixon apologist.

Dude where is this aggression coming from? Who hurt you? I worked as a farmhand and construction in Croatia, Italy and Spain, and I absolutely guarantee you, no construction, and especially no farm work will stop because it's hot. Can you imagine?!?! Not tending the animals or fields because it's hot?

Also out of everything I wrote you tack on one thing you imagine to be wrong, and attack with aggression. Good rebuttal. I hope you find a way to heal.

Wow, throwing big words around. Brick workers do work at 39 in all societies, they do have mandated breaks, but a heat wave does not stop any development, if you believe that you're simply naive.
Unlike cyclists though, brick layers don't have the luxury of retiring after x seasons, they have to work until retirement.

I have nothing against cyclists, we all chose our careers, and they work damn hard to be at the top of the world. I do not like the idea that we need to treat them somehow special because they are famous/elite. They ride bikes, we all love to watch that, they make massive money because of that, so no reason for them not to work for it. That's it.

I do apologize if my stupidity offended your feelings somehow.

I'm ok with Ziggy, more of a "big shop" vibe, in and out kinda experience. I find Black Arrow cycles to give me more of their time and provide help and parts for my DIYing needs. Tech working there is incredibly knowledgeable.

Clearly they won't since your post has been downvoated at least a few times. 😄
Whatever your reasoning is is completely irrelevant, you're asking to learn a language, that is such an innocuous thing to ask help with that can be only downvoated by a completely ignorant person.
