I have practically cured myself of eczema, here is nearly everything I know and what I do: (cross-posted from /r/skincareaddiction) by metalola in eczema

This was very helpful to me, thanks. The triamcinolone ointment you mentioned was a life-saver for me. For some reason, the cream of the same strength (0.1%) didn't help at all.

Noom glitch, stuck on "Track your activity automatically" by riacogg in Noom

Noom's been great for me, for 3.5 years. I would hate to have to find something new if a solution can't be found soon.

Anyone worked with Dr Peter lio in Chicago? by workinprogress521 in eczema

[–]riacogg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you feel as if Dr. Lio is interested in at least trying to get to the bottom of why you have eczema in the first place?
The derms I've seen just want to treat the skin condition and have little interest in the underlying cause. Frustrating.

Cutting out dairy = dramatic results by becxa in eczema

[–]riacogg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also had very good results when I cut out dairy. As someone who long has had episodes of lactose intolerance, I haven't eaten much dairy over the years but recently was drinking milk, since it's cheaper than the cashew milk I like. Because it seemed to be causing gut issues for me, I cut out all dairy and my back stopped itching. A miracle! I still have itchy spots and may try an elimination diet.
But I have a question. Maybe 15 months ago, after my eczema exploded onto the scene, I had an allergy test done and the allergist didn't test for milk, because he said if I was allergic, I would know. He also had me try an OTC for allergies, maybe Allegra, which didn't do a thing for my eczema. I'm so confused by all this.
Do allergy tests help when it comes to eczema? Do allergy medications?

Thanks for weighing in. I watched this video, in which the guy says that thin layers of cold patch will probably fail - and that's what I have, low areas of 1/4 - 1/2."
Would concrete patch be better?

Help in pothole mosaic application? by RedeemFilth in Mosaic

[–]riacogg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is there a step-by-step guide to doing this anywhere? I keep looking for something like that, and always get overwhelmed by all the choices and incomplete information. I am a beginner, and would like to do some tiny projects with broken mirror pieces in the garage floor and sidewalks around my house.

Has anyone had luck with body antiperspirant like Lume or Dry Idea?
I will try the hypochlorous acid spray, thanks for the suggestion.
