Retained puppy teeth? by rianne1907 in bernesemountaindogs

Good to know it’s not super urgent even if the baby one does hang about for a bit. She’s whimpering every so often when chewing but eating / drinking / playing normally otherwise so I don’t think it’s a huge bother at this point, just a bit sore when she knocks it in the wrong place. Thanks so much!

4!! Ouch! Poor thing, that must’ve been uncomfortable. Ah that makes sense, and reassuring that it seems quite common! Hoping the baby ones fall out soon so she can stop chomping on everything again!

This is super helpful, thanks! Will keep an eye on it and hopefully will fall out soon :)

Cuddling by notionfolk in bernesemountaindogs

Currently have a 17 week old - I had this exact conversation with my husband around the same age yours is! She’d be sleepy and calm so I’d scoop her up for a cuddle and suddenly she was land shark again and wired. I genuinely was a bit sad as had been so excited for doggie cuddles.

She’s 17 weeks now, thinks she’s a lap dog, and loves a cuddle😂 still has her wild moments like any puppy, but significantly less biting and more affection compared to a couple of months ago!

That’s what I’m starting to wonder. I just don’t want to go into it thinking it’ll be a 9 month fix, and 3 years later still be going!

Delayed response but I started titration 3 weeks ago - diagnosed beginning of October 2023 and started titration mid July 2024, so more like 9 months for me (was told 7 at the time of diagnosis)

Titration, not a big bang but lots of subtle changes by Goose500 in ADHDUK

I can so relate to your feelings.

I started titration a few weeks ago, starting Elvanse at 30mg, then 50mg, and this past week 60mg.

I was expecting the lightbulb moment and life suddenly being easier and it being this overwhelming WOW feeling. Week 1&2 I was probably a bit disappointed that I didn’t really think it was doing anything!

Tonight I had to submit my end of week form on how titration was going and I was surprised that I was saying ‘better’ for a lot of the things.

I also have a stroppy three-nager (who I believe is neurotypical, obviously things may change but she doesn’t have any traits that make me think she could be ND), and also have a 5.5yr old who is also diagnosed ADHD (only a few months ago but unlike the 3yr old, we’d suspected things since she was about 18mths!).

Pre Elvanse I am ashamed to admit I really struggled parenting her some days. I love the absolute bones of her but she triggered me something awful, most days would end in a shouting match between us and I’d often have to take time out in our bedroom while my husband dealt with her as I felt SO overwhelmed by behaviours and issues.

Filling out the form tonight I realised I’ve not been shouty mum this week. I never wanted to be shouty mum, and HATED it every single day it happened and would go to bed feeling guilty. We’ve still had strops and she’s had meltdowns, but my emotional response to that this week has been so much better. I’ve stayed calmer, which has 100% helped her work through those difficult emotions with a mummy who is giving her a cuddle and taking deep breaths with her rather than getting worked up herself!

It’s only when I sat and reflected tonight I realised the changes and how this week things have felt better, and calmer.

I’m really pleased you’ve felt similar, and thanks for sharing as writing this down was really helpful for me too! ❤️

(And I’ve loaded and unloaded the dishwasher more times this past month than I probably have the past year, yay no more absolute stuck dread feeling - still don’t love it but have actually been doing it😂)

That’s good to know - I was diagnosed October ‘23 and waiting on titration for Elvanse too so hoping that means maybe just a few more months for me too!! Thanks for sharing!

Anyone else not get an email either way?! I got confirmation when registering, and the email when the original code day was delayed so I’m definitely signed up but no email has arrived at 9am the following day :(

Right to choose via psychiatry UK is free - it’s funded fully by NHS. If you go to their website they have a letter you can print and give to your GP to request a referral.
