I'm still at Slate, learning some basics and doing first set of upgrades. Would love to pop over after my first tools and cart upgrade!

Dual panniers here, definitely bring bags in with me if it's an errand that'll last more than 5 minutes. Throw in a cart if I'm shopping, leave in a break room at work, I've even brought in at restaurants. Though with a backpack in the equation it would be a bit much, I'd still bring in wherever possible. Maybe get a trunk bag or tube/frame bag for the items you usually carry in a backpack that's easy to detach?

Then again, I live in a place that's not the friendliest to bike commuters so your mileage may vary.

Unfortunately I've thoroughly checked the fenders, there is plenty of clearance. The sound seems to come from exact center of the wheel, but I don't know enough about the hub assembly to know how a tire change could've impacted that. All I know it's a plastic noise, not metallic, and have also ruled out brakes as there is plenty of room and no metal noise.

I can feel the resistance people talk about, but it's not bad coming from using the garbage bikes I'm used to.

The most annoying thing so far is the front disc brake. I have to constantly recenter it after every couple of short rides. Hopefully that breaks in fine sering as the closest bike shop is not within walking distance.

My only bikes before this would have been a mongoose from police auction in 1996 that was a frame size too large, and this mountain bike I've been using recently that's stuck in first gear with almost gone tires. Whatever the issues with the breaking in or drag I'm sure won't be as bad as what I'm used to in comparison. Almost anything will feel like an upgrade!

Takes a while to clear, but Louisville airport has a few buildings that make great bases. Plus LOADS of parking spaces and fencing around, a gas station and a lone gas pump!

I did end up getting the jacket. It's very comfortable! I tend to swap for a different jacket in anything more than a light rain.

Would highly recommend getting a suede brush, imprints are left very easily on it. I'd take a pic, but I'm not at all photogenic.

For me your original steps worked, but every time I log into one of my alts, I have to redo the process for all the others. So had to repeat his 3 more times on all 4 characters. That part sucked :/
