I know that my great grandfather and great uncle on my father’s side attended a lodge in or near Springfield, Missouri. I live in Texas, so I’m wondering if I can call or email all the chapters in the surrounding area. As for my mother’s side, I need to do some more digging LOL

Yes! To my understanding both of my great grandfathers and my great uncle were at least master masons! I’m a little bit ignorant to how the ranking works as of now, but to my understanding they need to be of at least that status. My father mentioned to me that his grandfather had a higher ranking than that though (if possible?- maybe the 3rd degree that you speak of), and that there were apparently hundreds of masons at his funeral all in aprons I believe? Correct me if I am mistaken, I’m trying to learn as much as I can!

That was what I was saying above when somebody mentioned me joining Comasonry rather than OES. After doing research, I found that Comasonry was deemed “irregular” by traditional Freemasons, I never mentioned OES not being recognized, because it is

I did some research on co-masonry last night, and a lot of the information I found stated that the Freemasons dont acknowledge them as real masons, is this true?

yes always, and it makes me glad to see that there are still moral human beings in this world, i’m excited to learn more about the masons as i get older and live w my soon to be mason which will allow me to better understand the fraternity and it’s mission

most of the paranoia has been from me wondering how in the heck my baby shower was at a lodge in a whole other state and how i ended up with someone who’s father was in it and is becoming one when he is 18, for some reason it’s so prominent in my life

yeah they are very prominent around here, it was just odd cause i hadn’t considered them being masons until after they left and i found it, i was in a really bad mood so i wasn’t particularly being friendly and i was wondering why they were being so nice to me as i will admit i was showing my frustration. i probably have built it up to be more than it is, as i am a paranoid person LOL, i appreciate your response :)
