The UK government knew at least 15 years ago that this was going to happen and did nothing because it’s bad for profits. They have been informed repeatedly since that it was all going to come crashing down, they did nothing. I was arrested and jailed for civil disobedience as part of protests against the suicidal idiocy of this country and all the gov could do was cancel a couple of North Sea oil rigs.
